Winter is by far the best season to go fossil hunting – the beaches are quieter & the fossils are more plentiful. Rough weather washes fossils out of the soft clays and muds. Just make sure you are safe.

We taste tested this for lunch today. It was a tough job but someone’s got to do it! Absolutely delicious! Huge portions. Great price plus cauliflower cheese and homemade yorkshires! 😍😍😍

Fancy doing something a bit different during your stay? Yesterday we tried the Seaside Sauna Haus at Seatown. A short drive or a longer walk along the coast. It was fabulous! A 10/10 from us here at Westpoint! check their FB for further info 😎

Today is “Freedom Day”

We’ve reviewed our Covid policies and procedures, rightly or wrongly the legal restrictions have been lifted, and we would like to share our Covid update with you:

😷 We’d really appreciate guests wear a face covering when coming inside to use the facilities. If you need to queue for the loo, please do so in the cafe and not on the steps.

🎟 We will continue to not take reservations for the season but will review this come the autumn.

📈 There will be a Track & Trace QR available for those who wish to check in.

🍽 We will carry on serving outside only. There will be no inside drinking or dining for the foreseeable.

✋ We ask all guests to wait to be seated so we can ensure you get a clean table and warm welcome.

🍕 Table service will stay in place.

💆‍♂️ Good vibes only, please!
If you’re having a bad day and think we can pick you up and help you feel better, we’d love to see you. However, if you’re having a bad day and think taking your stress out on a member of our team is the way forward… politely, please keep walking.

Finally, on a personal note, I believe I have the best team in West Bay and beyond, they are all working so hard and incredibly professionally in the heat and changing circumstances, especially with “Freedom Day” and summer holidays looming. They’re amazing, and deserve every bit of praise and support they get. The past 18 months have been incredibly hard and stressful for everyone, especially us in the hospitality trade, we didn’t choose the way lockdown and furlough worked. I will not tolerate any rudeness, unpleasantness or inappropriate behaviour towards my team.
We’re really enjoying getting to know our regular guests and new ones too, and we’re all here to have a lovely time, and to give you, our awesome guests, a great experience at West Beach.
