We had a fabulous day yesterday walking Coniston Old Man for our 40th Wainwright on our 40th Anniversary!

Unesco awards Lake District World Heritage site status - BBC News

Great news for the Lake District. Such a magical place.

It's been a busy Easter week at Brookholme. Cat Bells, Go-ape, cycling the Cartmell Peninsula and around Windermere, Brockhole, Kendal climbing wall and Orrest Head. Plus a few cafes and pubs along the way.

View from school Knott, local walk only 30m from cottage to top. worth the short climb for the beautiful views across the town and lake windermere. Even the kids love it!
