So the day has finally arrived……..Beckmead, Phil and I would like to say a big thank you to ALL our guests for your support over the last 52 years, it’s been a pleasure to host you all and I know my Auntie would say the same. We have a very great & wonderful 5-day stay in Tilly’s house. The house is very spacious, can surely house eight adults. It is so nice that the pictures showed on the portal actually didn‘t do it justice! It looks much better in real life. All the bedrooms are large enough to accommodate two adults. Location is good, very short walking distance to shops and restaurants. Tilly is very responsive and helpful! The restaurant recommendations by Tilly are all superb! Highly recommended to other visitors, especially for those who travel in big group. Warmest regards, Anthony

From Beckmead there are lots of lovely walks but one of our family favourites for a summers evening with the dogs is Orrest Head , with amazing views of Lake Windermere it takes some beating for us ….have you walked up there? What did you think? …

Having 2 dogs ourselves, we know the importance of choosing the right place to holiday with our 4 legged family members.
We provide a small welcome hamper for our canine guests but if you have forgotten to pack something, the RSPCA shop in Bowness a short walk from the house may be able to help and you will be supporting the local branch of this fabulous charity.

A longer 20 minute walk will see you in Bowness where you will find Lake Windermere and be able to jump on a cruise or perhaps charter your own small motor or rowing boat and explore.
