“The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear” ~ Rumi ~

Our mind is often so busy that it does not get enough time to rest, and it is hard to quiet it. However, as soon as we achieve a peaceful state of mind, we understand that there is so much to listen to in silence.

“Mindful eating is not based on anxiety about the future but on actual choices that are in front of you and on your direct experiences of health while eating and drinking. Mindful eating replaces self-criticism with self-nurturing. It replaces shame with respect for your own inner wisdom.” Jan Chozen Bays.
Creating new combinations of flavors gives us the opportunity to express ourselves creatively in the kitchen. Mindful Georgia will give you the opportunity to meet interesting chefs who can teach you how to savor Georgian, as well as varied fusions of flavors.

🍇 ~ Italian scientists analysed 204 genomes of common grape vines in Georgia and found that evidence to suggest that a single 'domestication event' occurred in Western Asia.
The experts found that the birth of the grapes used in wines such as Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir took place during that event, which was followed by numerous and pervasive interbreeding with grapes from Georgia and Europe, reports The Times. ~ 🍷 🍇

Embracing Creativity in Flavours

“Mindful eating is not based on anxiety about the future but on actual choices that are in front of you and on your direct experiences of health while eating and drinking. Mindful eating replaces self-criticism with self-nurturing. It replaces shame with respect for your own inner wisdom.” Jan Chozen Bays.

On June 19, 2021, Mindful Georgia organised an inspiring world lunch performance “Embracing Creativity in Flavours” during the 24 hour online Global Peace Conference ‘Weaving a Shared Future Together’.

The performance introduced the Ayurvedic as well as meditative cooking approaches in helping participants to balance their physical and mental status for living a healthier lifestyle. Mindful cooking performance provided the opportunity to enjoy the present moment with the ingredients present in front of us.

In Ayurvedic cooking approach, mindful cooking is a great feeling about how cooking helps to improve the overall health status of the entire family! It is about excelling the art of creating products from unknowns with the help of kitchen tools and ingredients by tuning ourselves to attention and care on balancing tri-doshas in the body, selecting seasonal and organic ingredients, taking care of good or bad combinations, managing heat and cold impressions, caring acid and alkaline interactions inside stomach and proper combination of main food with spice or herbs for boosting immunity and managing bloating. Overall, it is all about balancing physical and mental status and living a healthier life, which we call ‘mindful eating’.

This creative performance explored and uncovered the “mindful cooking” approaches as a way to reconnect to our bodies and become enraptured by the whole process building thus the inner peace and resilience. Speakers gave the participants the opportunity to travel to Nepal and to Georgia while exploring these two countries traditional flavours.

A full recording of the performance will be available soon!

Speakers:
Sharada Jnawali - is a Development Specialist, currently working as a Freelance Consultant. She has Master Degree in Economics (Nepal 1980), Professional Leadership Course on Health and Nutrition (Cornell University, USA 1988) and Rotary Peace Fellow (Chulalongkorn University 2017). Combining her hobby of Healthy Cooking with Self Care, Sharada continues to share creative recipes, both local and fusion, to groups interested in wellbeing. She has authored the recipe book “Nepali Home Cooking for Healthy Living”, promotes Nepali spices and herbs through cooking classes and educates women and youths on healthy eating practices. To turn her learning experience to practice, she is currently engaged in mentoring youths under the initiative “The Nutri Kitchen’ by producing healthy foods and beverages.

Nino Lotishvili is an intercultural communication specialist (University of Lugano, Switzerland) and a peace building practitioner (Chulalongkorn Peace Center, Bangkok, Thailand) based and working in the country of Georgia. Nino’s life-changing peace path inspired her to unite inner and outer peace concepts and launch an initiative of Peace Research Centre Tbilisi and Mindful Georgia to promote well-being and inner resilience throughout Georgia and the South Caucasus region. Her research and praxis have included how to support women in conflict transformational processes and peace-building in the South Caucasus.

Mindful Georgia is an incoming tour operator, founded in 2020 to promote a holistic and a well-being tourism throughout Georgia.

Reviving Family Qvevri Wines Tradition

“There is no country where they drink more or better wine” with these words Jean Baptiste Chardin encounters 8000 years of uninterrupted wine-making culture in Georgia. LWP Winery wants to capture a special taste and feeling of this continuous tradition with its mindful approach. Since ancient times, the wine-making process has been a sacred practice for people preserving this culture. It has been a ritual accompanied by Georgian Polyphonic sounds. Thus, LWP Winery goes deeper into this culture and invites wine-lovers to feel the whole process, to try to see beyond the glass, and to appreciate the invisible links between each part of the whole process of wine-making orchestra.

"Make more decisions in every day. Because a decision is a summoning of life. That’s why a little chaos is good for you, because often you don’t make a decision until you get yourself in a jam. And then, in the middle of the jam, you make a decision, but that decision summons Life Force. Have you ever been a place where you couldn’t quite make up your mind and you just felt sort of limp? “Oh, I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know.” And then you decided, and you felt alive again. We want you to know that you’ll never get it done. So don’t approach this from, “I gotta get on this” because you’re not ever going to get it done, anyway. And the other thing we want you to know is, you cannot get it wrong. So, make a decision. Let it flow". Esther

"If there is no source of illness, why are there so many sick people? It is because they have found lots of excuses to hold themselves in vibrational discord with wellness. They are not letting it in. And when they don’t let it in, the absence of it looks like sickness. And when enough of them do it you say, “Oh, there must be a source of sickness. In fact, let’s give it a label. Let’s call it cancer. Let’s call it AIDS. Let’s call it all kinds of terrible things, and let’s imply that it jumps into people’s experience.” And we say it never jumps into anybody’s experience. It’s just that people learn through trial and error, and — through banging around with each other — patterns of thought that don’t let it in." Esther Hicks

Indeed, we can let the well-being in, just by breathing and admiring pure nature which surrounds us 😍🙏

”In India it is said that the most beautiful hour is that of sunrise, when the night still lingers in the air and the day is not yet full, when the distinction between darkness and light is not yet clear and for a few moments the man if he wants, if he knows how to pay attention, he can sense that everything in life appears to him in contrast, the darkness and the light, the false and the true are but two aspects of the same thing. They are different, but not easily separable, they are distinct, but they are not two. Like a man and a woman, who are so wonderfully different, but who become one in love.” (Tiziano Terzani)

“The quieter you become more you are able to hear.” - Rumi

"In a pandemic, self-isolation is called quarantine. In spirituality, it is called retreat. From the cave of our home, like the meditators of ancient times, we can consciously kindle the lamp of compassion and connection." ~ Lama Willa Miller

Our mind is often so busy within this frenetic routine that it does not get enough time to rest, and it is hard to quiet it. However, as soon as we achieve a peaceful state of mind, we understand that there is so much to listen to in silence.

Let us slow down our pace, and come back to our true nature and embrace compassion and connection

"The woman can be of immense help in creating an organic society. She is different from man, but not unequal. She is as equal to a man as any other man. She has talents of her own which are absolutely needed.

Women’s liberation is automatically men’s liberation. Women’s slavery is automatically men’s slavery. They go together."~ Osho

Happy International Women's Day to both - women and men - a great reminder to embrace each other's freedom!

Our Story

Cultures cannot be seen as separate entities. Cultures, traditions and customs are the result of movement and flow. We all are different in our uniqueness; however, we grow and develop because of our connections, interactions, by embracing what is “beyond” and celebrating our “otherness”. Culture can be compared to a river that flows, which takes with it other small rivers along its path and continues towards the sea or the ocean. It is flexible and is able to adapt. It can change shape and transform as more rivers flow into it. Georgian culture is also a mixture of different cultures, as is the case in many countries around the world. Visitors can feel that this country is indeed the beautiful outcome of being at the crossroads of Europe and Asia.

There is a long and inspiring story behind the launching of “Mindful Trips” idea in Georgia. After gaining extensive experience in the tourism sector in Georgia, I changed my career path to go on an inner journey. Overwhelmed by inner and outer conflicts in my geographical area, which concerned my family and myself, and after initiating inter-ethnic Peace research in Switzerland, I realised that I had began an inner healing project and became an outer and inner peace-builder and coach. Believing that “nothing happens by accident and that life is a continuous discovery,” (Tiziano Terzani) with “Mindful Trips” in Georgia, I bring together my expertise in tourism, peace-building and spiritual/transformative and personal growth retreats into one concept.

“The path to Peace flows like a river and because it resists nothing, it has won even before it has begun. The art of peace is unbeatable because no one is fighting against anyone, only themselves. If you conquer yourself, then you will conquer the whole world” ~ Morihei Ueshiba

I truly believe that we all represent “human orchestra” where we come with our unique talents, unique instruments, to perform together and achieve harmony. When we touch our true nature, we understand that there is no competition in this beautiful world full of opportunities for every single human being.
