Ushguli is one the communities in Svaneti and not a village as it is considered generally. This community contains 4 villages: Chivibiani, Murkmeli, Zhibiani and Chazha. These villages are 2400 m above sea level and they are considered as the highest populated places in Europe. Nowadays Ushguli is enrolled in the word’s list of the mounuments of Unesco. In the villages of Ushgulithere are still some unique architectural and ancient monuments. Defensive towers, unusual charches with fabulous frescoes. One them is IX-X century church of lamaria there is also an architectural museum in the village of Chajashi, Church of Christ where are kept the treasures of community’s 7 churches.

Kazbegi National Park is located in the historical gorge of the northern slope of the Caucasus range. The territory of Kazbegi Protected Areas is fragmented with a total area of 8707 ha.
