In the celebration of traditional Winter Solstice Festival (Dongzhi) and upcoming Christmas, Unilever Hong Kong has recently organised a Kids Day in which colleagues had a great time with their kids and families.
Various activities have been arranged on Kids Day. We participated in ecotour led by WWF in Island House, which is a British-style heritage monument in Yuen Chau Tsai. We spent a meaning morning to learn more about architectural history of the building, and take action to reserve ecosystem of mangrove communities nearby.
In the afternoon, kids were back to office and enjoyed treasure hunt and Christmas wreath workshop. Playing interesting games and creating festive crafts are definitely cheerful ways to celebrate this joyous time of the year.

Sustainable habits such as donating old items and reusing second-hand products can help us reduce waste and contribute to a waste-free world.
Apart from waste reduction, Unilever also strives for creating a sustainable food system by making healthier and plant-based foods accessible to all. We incorporated Unilever’s “The Vegetarian Butcher” plant-based meat into traditional Cantonese cuisine – P**n Choi, and prepared a healthy and delicious feast for our colleagues after the U Barter activity. Everyone enjoyed the good food in lunch and had a great time together.

To celebrate the 53rd anniversary of Earth Day on 22 April 2023 in advance, our Hong Kong office will turn off all electricity earlier at 5:30 pm today. By every less hour of electricity usage, we reduce carbon footprint by cutting 170 kg carbon emissions. The amount reduced is equal to carbon emissions produced by an aircraft flying from Hong Kong to Japan! We believe every green practice can make a difference and contribute to a better world.

Joining us as a full-time Marketing Intern, Jaime has managed brand campaigns in multiple channels and optimized their performance in the past year. By conducting market research, she has also acquired skills of investigating different potential markets and products, while deepening her understanding towards the FMCG industry. Carol has been our part-time Human Resources Intern over the past year, in which she fully supported our employer branding campaigns and activities. She managed our social media platforms and has become a go-to person for any design and creative work after the internship. By working with different stakeholders, she also realizes HR means a lot more than people management. HR can be influential on organizational culture by taking an active approach to HR initiatives e.g. wellbeing, learning and development etc.

Unilever Hong Kong had an amazing time in our annual party last month. We celebrated the success of the past year and appreciated the dedication and contribution of our professional teams together. Our teams dressed up in 5 different colours which represent 5 elements of the universe – metal, wood, water, fire and earth. In Unilever, we respect each other’s individuality despite our differences, and work as a team to achieve the best.

Our annual Change Leaders Conference was successfully organized in Hong Kong Disneyland early this month. The entire retail team was very excited as it is the 1st outing after 3 years of pandemic. By sharing ideas and thoughts in the conference, constructive feedbacks on Unilever’s business strategies were made. The team also enjoyed making dim sum of Disney characters during the Dim Sum Workshop. It has been an enjoyable day, and a great event to kick start 2023!

Unilever Hong Kong has successfully organised 3 DiSC workshops in Q4. Our colleagues completed their self-assessments, and by decoding their personalised reports during the training, they know more about their own and their teammates’ motivation and priorities. Through this in-depth self-discovery journey, we hope to inspire our teams to have better understanding on each other’s differences, ultimately enhance collaboration and work results together.
