Will explain the photo from couple of years ago! But, in the meantime, all this week have been radio programme accounts of random attacks resulting in life changing injuries to innocent people, for no reason, in our cities, and not just in Dublin. Yep, the underlying reasons must be dealt with of course! But!! in the meantime, those areas must surely be patrolled and protected!

As for the photo! Walked through Pamplona late one night, feeling totally safe as I always do in all the cities and towns along the Camino. Saw these gentlemen around the corner from Cafe Iruna, and asked permission to take a photo. Granted, but first told to pull my covid mask up fully over my face!
Was there anyone around who dared to carry out random and brutal attacks on me, or anyone else going about our way home! Of course not!!
Yep, we need ‘ours’ out of the barracks and on foot!

That’s my rant, for tonight!

Maybe you’re thinking of a Self Guide walk along the 1st stage from St. Jean Pied de Port to Estella next year! That’s the high point on the Napoleon Route, and that’s Hemingway’s Cafe Iruna in Pamplona.

You know what, there’s much more to this Camino than simply walking, so why not pull out his “The Sun also rises” for a read between now and then. You’ll be walking through his novel!

If not, click into his ‘The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carrol’. Not just brilliant, but a true story! His early voice, so listen carefully!

Seriously though! Almost tomorrow here in Santiago tonight, and could spend an hour spotting nighttime places! Nearly 300 thousand ‘Pilgrims’ arrived here a year or two ago, and I reckon most of them found the Cathedral Square through this archway.

For me, it’s almost 20 years photos of hooded cloaks, sorrowful dagger pierced statues, and crosses and chains being dragged around the streets of Santiago at Easter!

To be honest, had forgotten that The Romans came over this far, even though we cross many of their still standing, original bridges along the Camino! So, that’s why this ‘Roman Legion’ were here today, Easter Sunday!

This is us doing the boat trip around Finisterre last May And the only reason I’m ‘putting it up’. (Don’t ya just hate the lingo) is to see will it actually appear!

Stupid notifications about ‘updates & improvements’ on Facebook, and all of a sudden, I can’t see what’s going on. Why, oh Why, can’t they just stop fiddling!!
