All the amenities in Dunfanaghy itself -quirky shops, pubs, hotel, restaurants, cafes and art galleries - are also within easy walking distance. Dunfanaghy and the surrounding area is very popular with visitors who return each year to relax and enjoy the scenic beauty of this wonderful part of Donegal. The village is surrounded by glorious coastal and mountain scenery. Lovely Port-na-Blagh, a mile away, and Marble Hill nearby, overlooks a safe long strand. The enchanting Ards Forest Park is just a 5 minute drive away
Dunfanaghy is situated on the shores of beautiful Sheephaven Bay. It also lies along the route of Irelands Wild Atlantic Way. Across the bay from Dunfanaghy is the spectacular Horn Head which has been designated as an Irish Natural Heritage Area and a Refuge for Fauna (specifically sea birds). The landscape along Donegals north west coastline that surrounds Dunfanaghy is ideal walking,cycling and hill walking terrain. There are excellent walking routes around Horn Head, on Muckish Mountain and in Ards Forest Park. Golf at Dunfanaghy Golf Club β a classic 18 hole links course literally on your doorstep (Rosapenna and Portsalon championship courses are also easily reachable)
