June 4th - National Cheese Day and Ireland is a cheesey heaven.

We've had amazing tours with O'Tuama Tours at Macroom Buffalo Mozzarella, at Cashel Irish Farmhouse Cheesemakers, at St. Tola Irish Goat Cheese and Boyne Valley cheese.

It pairs so well with Irish whiskey and beer. Love Irish Cheese 😍

Thank you so much to my guests who took the time to review their tour on Trip Advisor, it is so appreciated. This descriptive review and fab photos taken by Kristi Fergason give you an idea of how much we pack into a 6 day tour. Getting excited for a new season of tours!!!!

Another amazing week in Ireland - Sep 2023
'Simply the best tour in Ireland. My husband and I have taken Mia’s 6 day tours twice, once starting from Dublin and doing a northern loop in 2022, and we just returned from doing the southern loop. So much variety and fun packed into 6 days.

On this last trip we visited a national park several national historical monuments from Neolithic and medieval periods, did a sea safari, visited a sheepherding demonstration, watched the sunset from the Cliffs of Moher, played a little hurling on a beach, plus visited a Meadery, several breweries and distilleries for tastings and tours.
Every night we went out to local pubs for a bit of live traditional music and sometimes dancing after dinner. Ireland is such a beautiful country and Mia is the most wonderful guide to get to see some of it. Highly, highly, highly recommend.'

Go raibh míle maith agat Kristi. 💚

Happy St Brigid Day, our most notable female patron saint was a woman of many talents:

A fertility goddess in Celtic mythology.
She began the first monastery in Kildare - 'church of the oak'.
Brigid was said to have worked many miracles.
The St Brigid's Cross made from rushes which is thought to keep evil, fire and hunger from the home in which it is displayed.
Brigid is also the patron saint for babies, blacksmiths, cattle & farm workers, sailors & scholars and travellers.
And a master ale brewer to boot!!! 🍻

Here's to Brigid, the 1st of February also marks Imbolc, a Gaelic traditional festival marking the beginning of Spring. ☘️

Brigid, as portrayed by artist Jim Fitzpatrick.

The twelfth and final day of Christmas, January 6, was known in Ireland as Nollaig na mBan or Women’s Christmas or Little Christmas.

As a reward for their hard work over the Christmas season, it was a day off from all house work for women and traditional roles were reversed in the home: men did the women’s work in the house while women rested and gathered together informally.

To all the wonderful women I’ve met touring ireland and my fabulous female guests, happy Nollaig na mBan. Hope you’re enjoying a feet up day with something nice on ice being served to you🥂

There are many Irish folk rituals associated with January 6th, the last day of Christmas and the day known as Nollaig na mBan
