The pleasant weather has finally returned to Nancy's Point, and the Connemara Lady is enjoying sailing under the fine summer conditions.

Saint Swithin's Day witnessed rain this year and we have undeniably experienced the promised forty days of rain as per the age-old tradition. Therefore, the emergence of a few days of sunshine is nothing short of a welcome relief.

The Killary Fjord is currently bustling with summer mackerel, significantly increasing the likelihood of encountering our resident pod of dolphins. And for those fortunate enough, there's even a chance to catch a glimpse of one of the otter families that have chosen the banks of the Killary as their home and maybe a seal or two, joining in the feast!

At present, we are operating four sailings daily from Nancy's Point, departing at 10:30, 12:30, 14:30, and 16:00.

Whether you are spending your holidays in Connemara or simply seeking an adventurous day trip, we extend a warm invitation to join us for an enchanting journey through the exhilarating landscapes, remarkable wildlife, and rich folkloric heritage of the Killary Fjord.

⚠️Sailings Cancelled July 8th⚠️

Currently, the summer in Connemara has taken an unexpected wintry turn, as a series of Atlantic depressions have brought strong winds. Consequently, we regret to inform you that our sailings for Saturday, July 8th, are once again being canceled, and the Connemara Lady will remain securely anchored for safety.

It's worth noting that the Connemara Lady is designed to handle challenging maritime weather conditions with her stable catamaran design, providing a steady platform in any situation. However, the main issue lies in the difficulty of keeping her on the ramp when subjected to strong crosswinds, even for our highly experienced skippers.

Fortunately, conditions are expected to improve very soon, and starting from Sunday, July 9th, we will resume all of our sailings. The departure times will be as follows: 10:30, 12:30, 14:30, and 16:00.

To avoid any potential disappointment, we encourage you to book in advance at www.killaryfjord.ie. This way, you can embark on a captivating journey through the ever-changing landscape of Killary Fjord and witness its beauty firsthand.

Gerry Hanberry, award winning poet, writer and musician,
Tony Tracy, Lecturer in Film and media studies at Huston School of Film & Digital Media,
Úna Kavanagh, who is currently researching the Clonbrock Photographic Collection and Clonbrock Estate Papers.
