DID you know??
Many species of Juvenile birds of prey often have barred or striped plumage underbelly visible in picture one compared with adult plumage in picture two!

It is thought this is to help them camouflage in a dark canopy with skylight flickering through, giving a black/white contrast!

Peter our . You can see his crop or ‘craw’ is full of food! Birds of prey can store food here for digestion later. During digestion, the meat separates from the fur/feather and bone. This indigestible material is regurgitated and is called a pellet! A little bit like a hairball. 🍀
