AIRO

AIRO The All-Island Research Observatory (AIRO) is a research unit and spatial data portal focused on improving evidence informed planning in Ireland.

AIRO is a research and consultancy unit based at NIRSA in NUI Maynooth. We specialise in spatial planning, spatial analysis (GIS) and data analytics. Most of our research and consultancy work is in the area of demographics, economy, housing and environment. We deliver projects for both the public and private sector on the island of Ireland and are also involved in a number of pan-European spatial

planning projects. We also host a series of public good mapping and data visualisation tools. These take the form of census mapping modules for every local and regional authority, national mapping viewers with the Central Statistics Office, mapping tools for secondary schools and a wide variety of data visualisation tools such as our Dublin City Dashboard, Example 2, Example 3. AIRO is a big supporter of the OpenData movement and as such we make as much of our data available to the public through our AIRODataStore. We've lots of experience working with data and like to share our knowledge. We do this through our Data for Decisions (D4D) QGIS workshops. Sign up to turn your data into insight.
