A private Taj Mahal experience :)

The best place to view Taj is not from Agra or Taj Mahal, but from a place that's exactly opposite to Taj Mahal.

Yes, Shah Jahan, the Mughal emperor who built Taj Mahal used to sit here and enjoy the beauty of Taj in Moonlight.

📍 Mehtabh Bagh

Mehtab means moon light, Bagh means garden. This is exactly behind Taj Mahal, on the other side of Yamuna river and is the only place that offers a panoramic view of Taj Mahal.

The creator himself says that this is the best place to view Taj. So what other validation do we need? During 's Holi experience, we didn't go to Taj Mahal with thousands of people, but we had a private experience of Taj from Mehtab Bagh.

Trust me, we were the only 12 people in this place and we literally got immersed in the beauty of this wonder.

Up the road from Rishikesh, away from the crowds of Kedarkantha and Har ki Dun, this little trek of Valley of flowers has the perfect pitch: there is sweet little to do. Unless you're the kind that can stare at the flowers and Himalayas all day and night. Are you?

📍Valley of flowers from Ulala Uttarkhand experience, Aug-Sep 2022.

PS: Ignore the 4th photo where I and lying deadlike at rest stops. And yeah, 8th photo is one reason why I love Uttarkhand❤️

The beautiful villages of Govindghat and Ghangria and us, wandering on the streets aimlessly.

Govindghat is the motorable village that forms the base camp for valley of flowers and Ghangria is the stay-able base for the two himalayan treks - VOF and Hemkund.

While waiting for the chopper, we got a couple of hours on each day to wander around.

We get bogged down by ticking things off the bucket list and we miss out on aimless, agenda-less travel.

Got lucky this time and we ended up dipping our legs in a river stream, eating hot jamuns slowly, talking to people that don't speak the same language as us, having a relaxed leg massage and laughing our ass out.

Sometimes, becoming part of the native environment and forgetting your plan, is also beautiful ❤️

Malabar Monsoon ❤️ A unique immersive experience curated by yours truly in the north western coastal region of Kerala.

There's definitely something magical about this place, the air and water.

From staying in the remotest forest region of Paithalmala to staying in a 300 year old Ancestral Kerala house (tharavadu) in Kannur, the experience is packed with waterfalls, ponds, streams and greens.

Once in a lifetime experience for all the busy souls trapped in city lives.

Check out the 'Malabar Monsoon' story highlights to virtually experienfe this, and register in the link in bio to get to be a part of 's future experiences.

Travel is not some panacea. There is no place far enough to escape your problems. Your baggage comes with you. But, what travel does, is give you the space to work out your problems away from their root causes.

It lets you be a blank slate.

Sometimes that's all you need.

Not an art on paper but an art by nature! Who's better an artist than the creator itself?

Blurred, no filter shot from our Kashmir trip last month! We were on the way to Aru Valley and the driver was kind enough stop and tell "You'll like this kinda place"

So glad we were able to a take a timely time-off before this omicron madness.

Surreal experience it was ✨

When was the last time you bought a travel accessory and enjoyed flaunting it? Maybe months or even years back! COVID-19 had a major impact on all our lives and affected the in us badly.

To keep my hodophile soul active, I spent some time creating unique travel badges and they are now available for purchase.

If you like what Navigotoo does and enjoy following our travel tales, then this is one way you can support us.

The badges are manufactured using recycled plastic by a local community in Karnataka.

These Travel badges are available in two sets. A batch of 5 each and each set costs Rs. 350 inclusive of PAN India shipping.

Check out the link in bio to make them yours now!

Look at how happy they are ❤

So many adhoc decisions. Itinerary improvisation. Less than 5 hours of sleep a day. Farmstay without electricity. Forest stay with shared restrooms. Leeches on almost every leg. Drenched in rain. Fell down and got hurt. Phones broken/drowned. Skipped multiple meals and above all that, last minute adrenaline rush to board the return train with an empty stomach. But still....

Look at how happy they are!

Super grateful to this amazing bunch of travellers who trusted me with their travel plans without even knowing the destination. No questions asked.

View from Vistadome train while passing through the Western Ghats of Karnataka. Hope you loved the stories, I'll also add everything as highlights and save it :)

Now, If you want to experience Vistadome, here's your save-able information.

Vistadome is not a train. It's a coach attached to a few trains. The one we experienced was the only Vistadome coach in South India that runs in Karnataka from Bangalore to Mangalore and back.

There are only 2 vistadome coaches on those trains, 80 tickets totally so you'll have to plan well in advance.

*Train details*
Train number 06211/06212 Yeshwanthpur Karwar Tri Weekly express (Mon, Wed, Fri)

Train number 06575/06576 Yeshwanthpur - Mangalore Tri weekly (Tu, Thu, Sun)

Train numer 06539/06540 - YPR Mangalore express.

*Train timing:*
Departs from Bangalore (YPR) at 7 AM. Arrives at Mangalore at 5 PM

Departs from Mangalore at 11 AM and arrives at Bangalore at 8.30 PM.

*Procedure to book*

You can book tickets as usual from IRCTC. But while booking, make sure you select the trains mentioned above and choose class as "Executive Coach (EC)"

*Ticket price on these trains*

Vistadome executive coach (EC) : Rs. 1395
AC chair car (CC) : Rs. 560
Second sitting (2S) : Rs. 155.
*Reservation charges extra.

*Scenic route*

If you're travelling from Bangalore to Mangalore, the ghat section starts at Hassan and lasts till a station called Bantawala. This is through the picturesque regions of Sakleshpur, Yedukumari and Kukke Subrahmanya. So make sure you don't sleep off when the train passes through this region.

- Hope this information helps you experience one of the most scenic routes in Indian Railways, in the best and nature immersive way possible ❤️

I'm sure you're excited to travel in Vistadome soon, save this post and make your planning easier 🥰🥰

Nestled between the himalayan ranges and river ganges, lies this amazing resort in Rishikesh called "Aloha on the ganges"

It's away from the crowd, at a place called Tapovan, on the badrinath marg. This area in Rishikesh usually experiences less footfalls as it's away from the centre and that's what makes it close to nature.

I dined here when I first went to valley of flowers, wish I could've stayed there but it was way over my budget then. I then discovered that there's an apartment complex within this resort where a lot of owners rent their 1BHK apartments on Airbnb starting 3k/night and booked one right away. This picture was taken from the apartment I stayed at!

While I am sitting idle without traveling, I wanted to look back at my journeys and help you with handpicked stays that I enjoyed so that you can add it to your list too!

The next time you plan to visit Rishikesh, you know where to stay!

So many doors to open but not sure which one to open first. So I decided to wait for the universe to show me the path.

In other words, despite huge demand for travel and getaways right now, Navigotoo travel experiences will resume only when it's safe (after two doses of vaccination)

And when we resume, be prepared to explore unopened doors 🚪

Tea: Hug in a cup. Sending y'all virtual hugs on this International Tea day ❤
I've drunk less than 5 coffees in my entire life so now you know how much tea means to me. So here's a compilation of 'Chai times' from different Navigotoo destinations!
1st picture: Hot roadside tea after the snow was cleared at Pahalgham.
2: Ginger Honey tea after trekking at Anamalai Tiger Reserve.
3: Hot cup sip at Govindghat, Uttarakhand
4: Fresh lemon tea after a cold waterfall bath, Vagamon
5: Special milk tea, by the pool, above the clouds near Paithalmala, Kannur.
6: Unique tea of Kashmir, called "Kahwa" at Srinagar on a house boat.
7: 15 hours journey tiredness vanished after a hot sip of tea at Idukki.
8: Tea and Pazhampori, The Pradeep & SaNa combo of Kerala.
9: Self-made Green tea at a hamlet of Kodaikanal.
And now that it's raining in Chennai, rush to your Kitchen, make some love (tea) and make your evening count!

We're all sailing on a small canoe that's passing through a ferocious storm. Let's be empathetic to everyone we meet on this journey and fight the tough times together ❤
