FYI Re land rise and POSSIBLE eruptions near Blue Lagoon:
update 7th Nov. Unchanged situation. Forewarnings will show prior to possible eruption near Blue lagoon and Grindavik, magma chamber not high pressured, instruments will demonstrate things happening prior to eruption, unlikely a large eruption based on history etc. says geophysist Magnús Tumi on Radio News 7th Nov.
Head of Dep. Volcanos, earthquakes & deformation Kristín Jónsdóttir said 6th Nov the magma shelves can grow large and for long prior to eruption, no indication of molten lava close to surface at this time.
Police commissioner said 6th Nov he thinks Blue Lagoon should close, but has not given a closing command.

Attention !!!
The Council of Europe's summit will be held in Reykjavík on May 16 to 17, as mentioned. It can be assumed that the meeting will have some effect on the daily life of residents in the capital area these days. For safety reasons, the streets around Harpa will be closed to vehicular traffic during the meeting, but it will be possible to go around the area on foot and by bike. However, this does not apply to the area closest to Harpa, which will be closed to the public.
Traffic delays can also be expected throughout the capital area due to police-escorted delegations driving to and from Keflavík Airport and Reykjavík Airport on these days. The impact will be greatest in the afternoon on Tuesday and Wednesday. On the website of the Government Council, you can see a map of the area that will be closed to traffic during the meeting, as well as an information page about the street closures.
