Connaissance De Ceylan extended a warm welcome to a special incentive group of 126 French guests upon their arrival in Sri Lanka on April 3, 2024. During their seven-day tour, they will explore various destinations across our island nation, including the cultural triangle, Kandy, and the East Coast.

It was an honor to have Mr. Chrishantha Fernando, the General Manager of the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, present at the airport to greet this distinguished group.

🔊 Connaissance De Ceylan Leads the Way with Plastic-Free Tours! ♻️

In response to this environmental crisis, we introduced our initiative, Eco-Hydrate: Sip Responsibly, Save Our Planet! At Connaissance de Ceylan, we are committed to reducing plastic waste and promoting sustainable tourism. As part of this effort, we have replaced plastic water bottles with re-usable alternatives. 🦜🦋

The main aim of the initiative is to minimize the environmental impact associated with single-use plastics. Each sip from these reusable bottles signifies a responsible choice that contributes to the preservation of Sri Lanka's natural wonders. Not only does Eco-Hydrate help safeguard the environment, but it also brings financial benefits to our guests. By eliminating the need to purchase bottled water, our initiative saves them the cost of water during their travels.

It’s with great sadness we announce the passing away of our friend and colleague, Mr Kamal Perera.

Kamal started off as a math teacher in Kegalle before he learnt French and started guiding along with our Founder & Chairman, Chandra Wickramasinghe in the late 70s. He joined Connaissance at our founding in 1982 and was one of the key pillars that helped build our company with his excellent guiding skills and more importantly his friendship and advice.

He was an amazing guide who was a true pillar of the French Market in Sri Lanka with his infectious personality and humour. Throughout his career; he has been a true ambassador of Sri Lankan tourism guiding 1000s of clients through their dream getaway in our paradise island.

Your kindness, loyalty and good nature will be remembered and missed not only within our team but also in the 4 corners of France and the world.

Thank you for everything you have done for us, We will miss you, sir! May you attain the supreme bliss of Nirvana.

We at Connaissance De Ceylan, have had the honour of hosting Jyoti Mayal, President of TAAI (Travel Agents Association of India); Balbir Singh Mayal, Former President TAAI; Arvind Singh, Secretary of Tourism in India and his partner as they visited Kandy after the successful 67th TAAI Convention which was held in Colombo. They discovered the Temple of the Tooth and had an insightful discussion with Most Ven. Thibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Mahanayaka Thera of the Malwathu Chapter. they experienced authentic hospitality at the Mountbatten Bungalow - a heritage boutique hotel by Thema Collection.

Day 2: Welcome to Mandaramnuwara

Today, it's off to cross the mountains and rice fields to arrive at the Tea & Experience Factory, a former tea factory converted into an experiential boutique hotel. Visit the nearby private tea factory followed by a hearty lunch before venturing out to pluck tea. Not to mention the beautiful waterfalls, fresh and pure water offered by nature!

Aujourd’hui, c’est parti pour la traversée des montagnes et rizières pour arriver au Tea & Experience Factory, une ancienne fabrique de thé convertie en boutique hôtel expérientiel. Visite de l’usine a thé voisine privative suivi d’un déjeuner copieux avant de s’aventurer à la cueillette du thé. Sans oublier les magnifiques cascades, une eau fraiche et pure que nous offre la nature !

After a stroll in the Botanical Garden and a gourmet visit to the local market, it is time for a short visit to the temple of Kandy, which houses the famous relic of the sacred tooth of Buddha, the star attraction of the city.

Event Day 4 of Raid Amazones! 🗺🌄 in 🎥 A scavenger hunt and discoveries game based at Sigiriya Rock & Pidurangala rock. The aim of the game was to help the contestants learn about the countries history, cultural and the 2 rocks whilst discovering these to amazing sights. The contestants first went up Sigiriya at the break of dawn and then continued with Pidurangala in the evening. The bike & run is an innovative event where teams of 2 & 3 will be given 1 and 2 bikes respectively to share. The team with the best strategy to optimize speed came on top!
