Hygiene in Nature - An environmental message
How to keep a hygienic campsite and use "nature's" toilet properly. When nature calls, we all must heed its command. Here is a method for doing your daily business and leaving no trace behind. If done properly, no one will ever know you were there, and the environment will benefit. By letting the natural bacteria, fungus and other micro-organisms in the topsoil do their work, waste breaks down very quickly. Remember to always be at least 100 meters from the camp area, and 50 meters from any water source. Nature will do the rest. www.stonehorsemongolia.com

Helping to maintain our environment is very important to our company and our visiting guests, both international and domestic. Here, Byamba, our lead horseman shows how we clean up old fire rings and renew the ground to allow plant growth, makng the camp area better for future use. No one likes arriving at a nice camp and seeing old firepits littered with rubbish. It's up to all of us that use these campsites to help make them pleasant and safe for ourselves and future users. Packing food for a nature trip - An environmental message
An environmental tip for our friends - We all see there is too much rubbish left in nature. Preparing for a trip in nature, whether hiking, a horse riding expedition or car camping, is essential to pack light and leave most packaging home. Take time to plan and repack food in zip lock bags and other reusable containers for easy access and use. This makes less weight and less rubbish left in the countryside, keeping wildife safe and nature clean. We all need to do our part. Take only photo and leave only footprints. Over the pass in Mongolia
Heading up over Khavirga pass between the Khan Khentii Special Protected area and the Gorkhi-Terelj National Park, our seasoned and well trained pack horses, the backbone of our operation, take the lead. They know the pass lies ahead and on the other side, some of their favorite grazing meadows. Even if they get there before their human companions, they wait. They've done this 100's of times and know just how to pace themselves for the climb ahead. Their experience in the back country is unmatched and their calm demeanor, as we travel the wilderness, is solid assurance that all is well, surrounded in this finest of nature. Before the flowers bloom
Our first multi-day Spring ride. The seasons flowers not yet blooming, but the weather is perfect to be out. It only gets better.
