1. Promises of Territory and Restoration
In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given
this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates (Genesis 15:18).
The Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people,
which shall be left (Isaiah 11:11). The first time was when they returned from Babylon. The
second is when they return from the exile begun in AD 70. This return began in the 1880’s.
2. Promises of Nationhood
Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of
the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea, when the wave
thereof roar; the LORD of hosts is his name: If those ordinances depart from me, the
seed of Israel shall cease from being a nation before me for ever (Jeremiah 31:35-36).
If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out
beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the
LORD (Jeremiah 31:37).
3. Promises of Salvation in Christ of the final Remnant
Blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in
and so all Israel shall be saved (Romans 11:25-26).
I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit
of grace and supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and
they shall mourn for him (Zechariah 12:10).
A new heart also will I give you . . . I will put my spirit within you . . . and ye shall
dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be
your God (Ezekiel 36:26-28).
