Casa Mango

Casa Mango owned by Lorayne Meltzer, Derek Peterson Casa Mango is tucked into an acre of private tropical paradise (23º 26' 40.10"N & 110º 14' 16.10"W for you GPS geeks).

It's great for a writer's retreat, yoga intensive, bird watching, reading, and other contemplative activities. All you'll hear is the sound of the waves, the birds, and the breeze through the palms. It's perfect for those who want privacy and nature all around them, plus the modern conveniences of a vacation rental. The Lower Casita has one master bedroom (queen size bed), one 3/4 bathroom, and a

secluded back patio. The casita also has a palapa-covered, open air kitchen and dining area that's nestled into a grove of huge mature mango trees. There's also an Upper Palapa that can be used as a patio lounge and/or additional sleeping area (it has two large couches that serve as twin beds), and it has its own 3/4 bathhouse. There's plenty of additional private camping areas on the property; large mango and palm trees offer plenty of shaded areas and perfectly compliment the lush gardens of exotic plants that include orange, lemon, grapefruit, banana, pomegranate and guava trees. From the front steps of Casa Mango, it's just a 5 minute walk to a spectacular Pacific Ocean beach. This beach is great for long walks & explorations, morning yoga sessions, or bird-watching at the nearby palm grove and river estuary. Casa Mango is also just a mile from the heart of Todos Santos and its famous collection of art galleries, restaurants, taco stands and internet cafes. Some of the best swimming and surfing beaches in the West Cape are only a 5-minute drive. La Paz, the capital of Baja California Sur, is is an hour drive to the north - it's a quaint little city with a picturesque harbor and boardwalk . An hour to the south is Los Cabos, a corridor of beachfront hotel resorts on the Sea of Cortez with warm water snorkeling, surfing, and the spectacular, end-of the-Baja Peninsula, "Lands End" coastal arches. The nearby La Laguna Mountains are less than an hour drive inland and offer lots of options for exploring the high country of the Cape Region - think tropical desert mountains that harbor 4-foot long iguanas perched in cardon cactus blanketed with flowering vines, pine forests with green mountain meadows, and little rancho homesteads with friendly locals. You can search the online LA Times and NY Times for articles and videos about Todos Santos. Our rates are $90/night (five day minimum), or $500/week; a 50% deposit is due upon reservation, refundable (minus a $200 reservation fee) up to 1 month before the check-in date. Hi everyone! 2014 was a rough year for Casa Mango - first with a fire and then with Hurricane Odile. But, after a lot of work, the place is looking great and we would love to have renters - please spread the word!!!
