May 5th is Liberation Day in The Netherlands, celebrating the end of the occupation by N**i Germany in 1945. the evening before, on the 4th of May, we remember the 250,000 Dutch men, women, and children killed during World War II. All over the country commemorations are being held. The National Commemoration occurs at the National Monument on Dam Square in Amsterdam, attended by the King and Queen. At precisely 8 PM two minutes of silence is observed nationwide.
