When visiting Tromsø, exploring Kvaløya is a must do!

An island packed with raw landscapes, endless mountains, arctic beaches, to breathtaking fjords, and (frozen) lakes. Enjoy the ever changing landscapes, and be sure to look out for roaming wildlife. We have the possibilities to spot soaring sea eagles, native reindeers, and the elusive moose. There will be several scenic stops along the way, perfect for photo moments, which we will share with you
after the trip. Upon reaching the archipelago islands, we will enjoy an organic homemade light picnic, and a warm drink. As we continue through the mountain valley, passing quaint fishing villages, and making a final stop at one of the most dramatic fjords on the island. The seasons in the North are full of charm and character. From autumn colours, to snow capped mountains, with the soft light of polar night, and the feeling of warmth as the sun returns. The melting snow slowly unveils the blooming landscapes, waterfalls begin to flow again, and we adjust to the midnight sun. Let us share our favourite places with you, sit back, relax, and breathe in the calmness and quietness of life in the Arctic. This tour will run in any weather; rain, wind, and snow are part of an authentic Norwegian experience. By Night:
As some of the most experienced guides, we analyse weather predictions prior to every tour, and have close contact with a network of guides for the highest chances to see the Northern Lights. Our custom built 4x4 tour van, is fully equipped with everything we may need in the arctic, allowing us to discover remote scenery, reaching the more calm and peaceful places. As a small group of no more than 8 people, we pick you up at a central location, allowing us more time for finding, and seeing the Aurora earlier! With no two nights the same, our enthusiasm and dedication never fades. Upon reaching suitable skies, we will set up camp for the evening. Most of the time this is a shorter drive to the surrounding coastal islands of Tromsø, or if needed a longer drive into Finland. Some nights the Northern Lights are visible en-route to location, and can last throughout the evening. Other nights require patience and positivity, for us to witness a faint glow across the horizon. We recommend you to book your first available night, as this allows us to find the most suitable evening, with the highest chances during your stay in Tromsø. Even though the Aurora appears most nights, it’s all about taking chances. Staying comfortable on an Arctic winters night is essential, this is why we provide suitable thermal clothing. Once geared up keep warm around the roaring campfire, enjoy a hearty homemade soup, cookies, and hot beverages, whilst getting to know fellow travellers. All our cooking is organic and suitable for vegans. We understand how important photos are, as passionate photographers we capture vibrant moments of you and the Aurora. If you choose to bring your own camera we can offer help & advice on how to get the most out of your photographs. All our images will be shared with you the very next day at no extra charge. We love what we do, and the nature that surrounds us. Therefore we strive to be environmentally friendly, and aim to be as sustainable as possible. But most of all we value having good times in breathtaking places with likeminded people.
*Northern Lights Sunset: Autumn (end August - beginning September), Spring (end March - April). During these times it is possible to see the Aurora, but may appear weaker, as the nights are brighter and shorter.
**Moon Phase: Visiting around new moon will give you the darkest skies, causing the Northern Lights to appear stronger, and on clear nights filling the sky with stars. Whilst during full moon, the Aurora may appear fainter, but illuminates the landscapes which can make for very effectful photographs. For more info visit northernsouladventures.com

It all started when Hannah and Jeff met travelling almost a decade ago. Along the way they got to experience both the good and bad in tourism, and collected inspiration to offer better experiences to likeminded people. One of their first memories of seeing the Northern Lights, was a casual autumn evening enjoying dinner outdoors at a fjord around the campfire catching up with friends, and simply having a good time. That evening sparked the idea to share moments like this with people travelling from near and far, instead of the usual commercial tours that you find elsewhere.
Shortly after in 2016 Northern Soul Adventures was established, since then they have met endless travellers, created memorable experiences and even some friendships.
We are a small group of friends both local and international, what we have in common is our love for the place we call home. We started on different career paths, but a passion for the outdoors and photography led us to guiding. Each of us has travelled far and wide, enjoys meeting new people, and hearing stories from places we have not yet visited. We thank you for allowing us to show you, what we love about Tromsø.
In a time where tourism has seen a growth globally, it is important not to join the mass-tourism train, and to think about what you want from your trip to Tromsø. On our tours we aim to respect wildlife, consider the local villages, and leave no trace. Every decision we make is a conscious one; from the food we make Ⓥ to the equipment we use, with the hopes that we can raise environmental awareness. But most of all we value having good times, in breath taking places.
NB: max 7 souls / vegan friendly.
