On the sixth day of our Everest Base Camp trek, we embarked from Dingboche towards Lobuche Village, greeted by the crisp mountain air and panoramic views of the towering peaks. Rising with the sun at 6:30 am, we geared up for the day's adventure, fueled by a hearty breakfast at 7:30 am. Setting off at 8:30 am, we followed the winding trail that gradually ascended towards Thukla, situated at an elevation of 4620 meters. Here, alongside the Dudh Koshi River originating from the Khumbu Glacier, we paused for lunch, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the Himalayas.
Refreshed and energized, we resumed our trek, ascending further to Duklha, where solemn stone memorials pay tribute to those who lost their lives on Everest. After a reflective moment and capturing some poignant photos, we continued towards Lobuche Village. As we approached, the landscape transformed, revealing stunning vistas of Lobuche Peak, Lhotse, Cholatse, and Taboche, standing tall against the azure sky.
The trail presented its challenges, with gusty winds and cold temperatures ranging from 1Β°C to -6Β°C, yet our determination to press onward never wavered. Each step brought us closer to our destination, filled with anticipation for the sights and experiences that awaited us in Lobuche Village. Finally, as we arrived at our resting place for the night, we were greeted by the warm embrace of the village, offering respite from the rugged mountain terrain.
Reflecting on the day's journey, we felt a profound sense of gratitude for the opportunity to explore the majestic beauty of the Himalayas. As we settled in for the night, surrounded by the awe-inspiring peaks that towered above us, we knew that our adventure was far from over. With each passing day, we moved closer to our ultimate goal of reaching Everest Base Camp, eager to continue our exploration of this breathtaking region.

After freshening up and packing our bags, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast at 7 am, fueling ourselves for the journey ahead. Setting out from Fungitanga at 7:30 am, we embarked on our trek, eager to discover the wonders that awaited us.
Crossing the iconic suspension bridge, we began our ascent along a slightly steep trail, surrounded by the pristine beauty of the Himalayan landscape. At the last checkpoint for Everest Base Camp, Lobuche Ama Dablam, we proudly presented our Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit, marking the official start of our trek through this spectacular region.
Our path led us through enchanting pine forests, the air filled with the sweet scent of nature, as we made our way upwards. After an invigorating hour and a half of trekking, we arrived at Tangboche, a picturesque spot where we paused to capture photos and admire the breathtaking views.
Continuing our journey, we descended through the enchanting rhododendron forests towards Deboche, where we enjoyed a well-deserved lunch break upon our arrival at 11 am. Taking our time to savour the moment, we indulged in the flavours of the Himalayas before resuming our trek towards Pangboche, our final destination for the day.
Crossing yet another suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River, originating from the majestic Mt. Everest, we marvelled at the sheer power and beauty of nature surrounding us. After trekking for approximately 2 hours, we reached Pangboche, where we would rest for the night, surrounded by stunning views of Ama Dablam, Mt Everest, Lhotse, Lhotse Shar Nuptse, and more.

Exploring the Khumbu Region: Day Three Expedition
As the golden light of dawn painted the sky, we rose at 6 am, eager for another day of adventure in the majestic Himalayas. After packing our bags and enjoying a hearty breakfast, we set out on our trek at 7:30 am, ready to explore the wonders that awaited us.
Our journey began just above the charming trails of Namche Bazaar, where every Friday, local villagers gather for a bustling market, offering a glimpse into the vibrant culture of the region. Slowly but steadily, we made our way along the steep, vertical trail, marveling at the panoramic views of Namche Bazaar below us.
Our next stop was the Sagarmatha Next building, where we were treated to a captivating documentary about the Everest expedition and a thrilling 3D view of the world's tallest peak. Here, we learned about the innovative Sagarmatha Next project, which transforms waste materials from trekkers and mountaineers into unique souvenirs, highlighting the importance of sustainable practices in the mountains.
Continuing our trek, we reached the Hotel Everest View, perched at an elevation of 3,880 meters. Here, amidst breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and many other towering peaks, we indulged in a refreshing cup of tea and rested for an hour, soaking in the splendor of our surroundings.
With renewed energy, we trekked onwards to Khumjung, where we were greeted by stunning views of the picturesque village nestled amidst the mountains. Here, we enjoyed a delicious lunch, savoring the flavors of the Himalayas before beginning our descent towards Fungithanka.

Trekking to Namche Bazaar: Day Two Expedition
Our day began with an early rise and a delicious breakfast at Namaste Lodge in Phakding. With our spirits high and our backpacks ready, we embarked on our trek towards Namche Bazaar, eager for the adventure that lay ahead.
As we journeyed deeper into Sagarmatha National Park, we were greeted by the sight of vibrant Buddhist monuments, like mani walls, mani wheels, and prayer flags, sprinkled along the trail. These spiritual symbols added a serene touch to our trek, reminding us of the rich cultural heritage of the region.
Amidst the lush greenery, we also encountered the breathtaking beauty of rhododendron blooms, their vibrant colors enhancing the charm of the trail, especially during the spring season.
During our trek, we were treated to awe-inspiring views of several Himalayan peaks, including Mt. Thamserku, Taboche, Everest, Kongde, Khatang, Nupla, and Topdada. These majestic giants towered above us, serving as constant reminders of the awe-inspiring nature of the Himalayas.
As we crossed a newly constructed Hillary Suspension Bridge, strategically placed just above the old bridge, we marveled at the ingenuity of the infrastructure. This addition not only reduced our trekking time but also offered a glimpse of the upcoming highest elevation bungee jump in Nepal, set to take place from the retired old bridge.
After reaching the summit of Top Dhada and resting for a while to take in the magnificent views, we continued our descent towards Namche Bazaar. Finally, as we arrived at our destination at 2 pm, we couldn't help but marvel at the beauty of the Himalayas surrounding us, grateful for the unforgettable experiences of the day.
