Asian Green Bee-eater (Merops orientalis) is one of my favorite bee-eaters. It is fairly common breeding resident in lowlands of Nepal. I love the way bird catches insect in the air and perches on the reeds and tree branches before eating the catch.

Early summer and late spring (April-May) is the best time to photograph bee-eaters because they are in their beautiful plumage and often they are seen catching insects (dragonflies, wasp, bees and etc.). I captured this bee-eater while was leading a mammal and bird photography trip recently.

Common Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) is one of the smallest kingfishers commonly seen in sitting on branches near canals, streams, rivers and lakes. It is pleasing for the eyes to see its beautiful colour and skill to catch fish. I always feel so special to see this tiny kingfisher and never get enough of capturing inside my camera. So, here am presenting my camera work. Enjoy the beauty of the bird through my lens.

Clicked in Chitwan National Park during my recent birdwatching tour. It is best time to see them in their breeding plumage and they are busy either digging their nest or feeding their chicks these days.
