My Name is Jyamchang Bhote my faily name is Salaka. I am from North east of Nepal small village call Farang ( hongong) Hatiya VDC. in Makalu Barun National Park.my child hood have been grew up in the Mountain village helping to my parent as a daily house work and farming for living. I am the oldest son from the Family we are quite big family my mother gave 11 birth among the 11 now alive we are 3 brother and 3 sister. life was difficult in the mountain village because very remote.
In the family i have most responsible especially after my father is past away from Cancer disease. so when i was age of 16 i had to give up to continue my school and had travel away from the family and village to find a work. similarly my other sibling also had to give up school because can not effort as our economic back round is poor.
When i travle to find a work i end of to come in Kathmandu capital of Never. first couple months very difficult to find a work there especially when i am uneducated and when i don’t have any one to reference for the work. after 2 months i found work as porter trekking with Tourist. 1998 April season was my first year working as a porter.it was hard sometimes but mostly for me easy to be as porter because i used to work harder in my village.so i like to do the trekking porter and i decide continue working.after 2 season i like to do mountaineering, because for mountaineering can make more money. after 3 years being a porter i never get chance to higher position, also to do Mountaineering for sure required skill for safety. that time i never thought i am going to climb Everest and become a International Mountain Guide.
