👉Constructed in 1893 by then General Khadga Shumsher to commemorate his deceased wife, Tej Kumari. The palace is nestled on top of a giant rock, at the banks of the Kaligandaki River. In these regards, Rani Mahal, or Queen’s Palace, has parallels to the Taj Mahal of India, the reason why it is often referred to as Nepal’s Taj Mahal

👉🏿A renowned figure in Nepal’s folklore is the legendary Garuda, a half-man-half-eagle figure found in Hindu mythology. Garuda is known to serve Lord Vishnu as a conveyance. In the Mahabharata, the Garuda is described as the one who devoured evil and enemy to the serpents.
▶️The Garuda symbolizes power and victory over injustice. It is not only part of the mythological stories of Nepal but also associated with royalty in several Southeast Asian countries.

History of Boudhanath

👉🏿Khasti Mahachaitya was the real name of Boudhanath, before the Panchayat era. Khasti Mahachaitya means great stupa of dewdrops. But later during the Panchayat era 1960s, King Mahendra named it “Boudhanath”.

▶️It is believed that the first stupa at Boudhanath was built around 600 AD when Song Tsen Gampo, the Tibetan king, converted to Buddhism. But, the Mughal emperors destroyed the first stupa. However, according to the Gopalaraja-vamsawali, Lichhavi king Sivadeva founded the stupa during the 5th century. The construction of this stupa is associated with a number of kings. Many Nepalese chronicles date this stupa back to the reign of King Manadeva. Similarly, excavators found bones of Amshu Verma in the late 15th and 16th centuries. Besides these, there are many myths and stories behind the construction of this ancient stupa.

Maghe Sankranti is celebrated on the first day of Magh (10th month) in the Nepali calendar. The reason Makar Sankranti and or Maghe Sankranti is celebrated at the first of Magh is to worship the sun. In Maghe Sankranti, people worship as Poush is the coldest month, starting from Magh, people worship the god of the sun for long sunny days. People also prepare special food items like, teel ko laddu, khichadi, chaku, tarul, etc.

In addition, it is also the new year for the Tharu community. Anyway, in simple words, we can say that Maghe Sankranti is celebrated to drive the inauspicious phase that starts from December or mid-December to mid-January away.

The Kyanjin Gompa (Monastery) located here is said to be 700 years old. And, the valley is named after this monastery. ... It can take up to a week to walk to this valley situated on the foothills of Langtang. Once you reach the valley, there is also another trekking route, Kyanjin to Helambu.

Kalinchowk located at the height of 3,842m, in Kalinchowk Rural Municipality, Dolakha districts, Nepal, and falls under Gaurishankar Conservation Area. Kalinchowk Bhagwati Temple is about 151 km distance and 7 hours ride from Kathmandu to reach via Kuri, depending on the road condition. After you get to Charikot, you have to travel offroad up to Kuri village, where 4-wheel vehicles will be best. From Kuri village, you have to take an hour walk up to the top of Kalinchowk.

Kalinchowk trip is generally about 2 to 3 days depending on you. You can either go directly from Kathmandu to Kalinchowk via public bus or private vehicles or go from Kathmandu to Charikot and then trek to Kalinchowk. Also, You can catch Cable Car from Kuri village and get to the Kalinchowk Shrines.

👉🏿Itinerary and Timeline of Mardi Himal Base Camp Heli Copter Tour:

✅6:30 am: Tea at hotel in Lake Side Pokhara

✅7:00 am: Pick up and transfer to Pokhara Airport, security check-in and stand by at Heli Copter Zone.

✅7:50 am: Fly towards Mardi Himal Area via World Peace Stupa, Sarangkot View Point, Dhampus Village. In the same vein, we go over Pothana, Pittam Deaurali, Forest Camp, Lo Camp and finally touch down to the Mardi Himal High Camp.

✅8:20 am: Touch down at Mardi Himal High Camp or Mardi Upper View Point. Time for Photography, with Helicopter, Grab a hot drink and experience high altitude nature of the Mardi Himal Area.

✅8:45 am: Take off towards Pokhara via over Lwang Ghalel village and Madi River Valley.

✅9:00 am Land in Pokhara Airport, Goodbye with pilot and security check-out of Airport.
✅Before 10:00 We will drop you at your hotel, by which we will end our Mardi Himal Heli Tour.
