Rhonda is our secret weapon in that regard.

We dare you not to fall in love with her by the end of your trip.

Tracey’s dream was to have a road trip in a kombi and what a fabulous time to go on a roadie, right before the Xmas crazy season is in full swing.

Rhonda travelled a fair few kms, with 4 different stopovers, adventures with weather 😜 - how fun is that?? 🤩

Our minimum hire is 2 days - however Dec/Jan gets booked months out - so plan in advance!

I hear ya 🤷‍♀️ it’s not the kombi vibe, we’d like to all go with the flow, but some things take planning, like booking the trip, then go with the flow 🤟

Our first Alexandra hire!!

Super excited to be able to hire Rhonda out for the first summer adventure this year.

I’m always envious of the adventures they’ll have on the road. It’s all about the journey 🤩

Arriving into Queenstown? No problem! There are a few ways to get yourself to Alex, and we’ll be updating our website very shortly with these. 🚐

Stella would like to have hired Stella for obvious reasons but Rhonda will steal her heart anyway I’m sure 💯

What a fabulous day in Invercargill to start their road trip - we’re always totally envious to not be setting out on the road also!

Southland has been enjoying an amazing summer, contrary sadly to the North Island with the horrific and traumatic effects of the cyclone weather.

Camping is definitely not as much fun if it’s raining so we’ve been grateful our summer hires have enjoyed the best of what the South Island has to offer.

Pippi has just arrived back from an amazing adventure around Southland.

You really don’t have to travel far to experience how great being on a kombi road trip is!

Southland has been experiencing stunning sunshine filled days, and I’m not gonna lie, camping is always better when the sun is shining 😆

Looking for adventure? This couple started off with a shark dive in Foveaux Strait, staying in Bluff for the first night.

There are no rules that say you have to travel miles each day.

Enjoy being in the moment - remember it’s the journey itself that’s an adventure, it’s not always about the destination 🤘

Miss Frankie wasn’t missing out on this road trip!

Daniel surprised Leah with a 3 day getaway to the Catlins and of course they had to take Frankie along.

There are more campgrounds, including some DOC ones, that allow dogs these days.

We provide a printed PDF in Rhonda of the South Island DOC camps that has all the information you need about campsites.

Nothing worse than last minute trying to find somewhere to stay with the whole family!

Rhonda is our designated dog friendly van with her vinyl back seating and lino flooring.

Warren & I did a recce in Aggiee last week to check out some of the camping spots for ourselves and update you on the best places to go.

We’ve managed to sneak away for a couple of days with Aggiee in between hires 😊

Exploring the Catlins where we haven’t personally travelled to for many years even though we tell you to go there! 🤦‍♀️

It’s a busy area at this time of year and it’s easy to see why. It’s truly beautiful 🤩

We’ve stayed in some stunning spots with the sea within a few mins walk. Swipe 👈 to see some of the gorgeous scenery 🌟

You can’t see everything in one trip - our advice? Pick a few must see’s and save the rest for another adventure. 🚎

Yup, we’re the ones sniggering at those poor people trying to bang tent pegs into the hard ground just along from us 🤭 as we’re relaxed and soaking up that glorious sunshine ☀️

😉 We do offer a helping hand with a hammer we have onboard.

What would you rather be doing? Enjoying the company or arguing over putting up a tent or awning. Because that’s not fun 😳

You can’t buy happiness! 🤩

Such a true concept wouldn’t you agree? Experiences, or adventures on the other hand, can add happiness to your life in a multitude of ways.

The moment we hit the road, happiness arrives big time. We set off with huge smiles on our faces, excited about seeing new places, talking to random strangers, experiencing new adventures.

The South Island has such a diverse range of natural beauty that we can never decide which way to go when leaving Invercargill. 🤷‍♀️

The West Coast with its stunning greenery and wild seas 🌊 🌳

Straight up the middle to Queenstown and the lakes beyond 🏔

The East Coast with its impressive Catlins scenic route that you need more than a day to see all of the natural wonders 🐧
