Two places to visit whilst in Nairobi are the Elephant and Giraffe centres where they are doing much to ensure the conservation of these wonderful creatures. The Giraffe Centre is next door to the hotel that lets you breakfast with the giraffes!
Day two and we haved moved on to the Sacred Valley where we visit Inca settlements, namely Pisac and Ollantaytamboi. We are now ready for the big one tomorrow!
When travelling to a new country or city, its always good to take a walking tour, which will give you a great overview of the place. So, on arrival in Lima, Peru, that's what we did. It showed us eclectic architecture and the food markets, including a Peru speciality, Guineapig!
You can’t come to Argentina without visiting the Iguazu Falls. It covers a huge area and can be viewed from both the Argentinian and Brazilian sides. Make sure you take the boat ride that leaves you soaked to the skin as you experience the power and force of the falls from river level.
For the last couple of weeks we have been exploring Argentina. A previous post showed Buenos Aires and then we moved down to San Martin de los Andes, and onto Bariloche, wonderful parts of the country. We just happened to be in San Martin on the town’s birthday and witnessed a parade. The National park in Bariloche is stunning.

We have been cruising up the Rhine these past few days visiting beautiful towns & cities before arriving into Amsterdam today. A river cruise is a great way to see the history and culture of the Rhine!
Strasbourg is a beautiful city, well worth taking the time to visit and has been under French and German rule a number of times. Currently in France!
When coming to Europe to enjoy a river cruise, make sure you build in at least a few days to enjoy Zürich and Basel before boarding your ship. These cities are stunning.
We have arrived into Zürich this morning to a refreshingly efficient and smart airport. The city hasn’t disappointed either with lanes and cobblestone roads leading to wonderful squares with cafes spilling out into them.
This resort is spacious, on the beach and ideal for families. Multiple food options, swimming pools and other activities and an ideal base for the family whilst you are in and around Port Douglas.

We have moved down from Turin into France and the Côte d’Azur, staying in Nice.
Torino is a lovely city that goes under the radar. Very worthwhile visiting. With over 18km of covered walkways, the Turin Shroud, 50 museums and a number of palaces, there is plenty to see and do!
Milano is a beautiful city, so much to see.
Monday in Milan!
We are now in Jerusalem and have been visiting all the significant sites both in and outside the Old City, including the Garden of Gethsemane, Bethesda and Western (wailing) Wall.
We have visited a number of significant sites over the past few days; Sea of Galilee, Capernaum, the Gates of Hades at Caesarea Philippi and the Mount of Beatitudes to name a few!
We have been in Israel a few days now and today visited Tel Dan, Caesarea Philippi and the Golan Heights
We have moved over the border from Jordan to Israel. Another visit to a decapolis city, this time Bet She’an
Make sure you give yourself plenty of time, ideally a full day, to see all that Petra has to offer. This first picture is what you normally see, but there is so much more here to explore.
When in Amman you must spend at least half a day in Jerash visiting the Old City. One of the Roman decapolis cities, and some the best example to see.
You can’t visit Hobart without a visit to the Port Arthur Penal Colony. With a short cruise around the bay and time to explore the large historical site it’s a very informative day out.
We have just spent two nights at Terrace Downs, a high country resort close to Mt Hutt in the South Island. Great location and great environment to wind down. The golf course is beautiful too!
