Object of the Week: Oil painting by RNZAF Official artist, Wing Commander Maurice Conly, depicting No. 40 Squadron RNZAF Hercules NZ7005 on the ice runway at Williams Field, Antarctica, with a team of husky sled dogs from Scott Base in the foreground. Painted during Conly’s second visit to Antarctica in the summer of 1973-74. Ex-RNZAF Shelly Bay.
