We have had a few inquiries about this year’s Carol's in the Caves, so here is some information below:

The Carols in the Caves tickets come on sale on Monday 27th of November at 9:30 am and the concert dates are the 8th, 9th and 10th of December.

It is first in first served with the tickets, and you can call us on 07 8787640, email [email protected] or pop into see us here a Waitomo Caves Museum and isite to secure them, on or after the 27th of November during business hours, while there are still tickets available.

We typically experience a high volume of requests when tickets become available, so your patience is appreciated 🙂

Carols in the caves 2022 is fast approaching!!!

Tickets will be available from November 28th. Call us from 9:00am on the 28th. After that date, you can call, email or pop in to see us here at the Waitomo Museum and i-SITE to reserve your seats :)

Come and join us for the NZ Mountain Film Festival 2021.
There are some exciting films in the line up this year!

It is all happening on Saturday the 9th of October.

The afternoon session is from 2pm - 4:30pm.
There will then be a break for dinner.
The evening session is from 7pm-late.

The cost is $25pp for one screening, or $40pp for both. Spaces are limited.

Come along to the Waitomo Sports Day on Saturday 27th March 2021, to help us celebrate and enjoy our annual sports day.

The Sports Day is a one day event held on the Waitomo Caves Village Domain and features shearing, wood chopping, show jumping, steer riding, children’s activities, entertainment and stalls.

The Waitomo Sports Day is a great family event, which showcases the rural side of Waitomo at its best. Held annually on the fourth Saturday in March, it's one of the largest privately run sports days of its kind and attracts large numbers of visitors each year.

The organisers had to cancel it last year, due to Covid-19, so we're looking forward to a great day this year and hope to see you there.

Book launch & photography exhibition this weekend
The North Island launch of Van Watson's & Paul Caffyn's book will be on this weekend at the Waitomo Caves Museum.
There is an exhibition of Paul's photos in the Education Room - open from 10am - 5pm on Saturday and from 11am - 3pm on Sunday.
Van will be there during those hours to sign copies of the book - available to purchase from the museum.
Van's official launch talk will be at 3pm, with another to follow at 3:30pm if there is demand (if, as expected, more people than chairs turn up 😉).
Come and celebrate, hang out and reminisce.
