Scored this old charcoal press while buying another antique item. Saw it forlornly lying on the ground. What I first noticed about it is its unique rooster lock, instead of the regular 'flacid'...uhm...cock-looking one. It's smaller than the usual press size too, so ir must have been for more delicate textile like camisas ang barongs.
A week of sanding away its rust inside and out, it is now at the center of our center table-baul, ready to be used as a shiny and heavy instrument for debt collectors a-calling.

TOURIST DESTINATION |

Explore and Enjoy at CBRMA Karawisan Beach, Island Barangay Divinubo,Borongan City.

Yes, yes it does. Although you're technically not by an ocean , the gulf breezes have the same effect. Take a few moments to stop and notice how it feels against your skin. Breathe in deeply and then exhale slowly. Ahhh, instant relaxation.

TALUBAGNAN CAVE
Brgy. Bato, Borongan City, Eastern Samar

A "must see" for visitors in Borongan. A 1.8-kilometer deep cave located at Sitio Cati-an, Brgy. Bato considered being a destination for extreme caving adventure. The cave entrance is a 30-minute hike away, but time stand still once inside: where one gets to see, scrutinize, and marvel at the stalactites and stalagmites hanging and jutting from the ceilings and floors that took years to form.

How to get there:

About 5 minutes ride from the City downtown to sitio Cati-an, Brgy. Bato followed by a 30-40 minutes trek to reach the site.

Please always coordinate first with the barangay officials before going to the site. There are headgears and flash lights that visitors can rent. You can also hire friendly and experienced local cave guides to accompany the guests in this very exciting adventure.

Today we celebrate the SOLEMNITY of the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION of the BLESSED VIRGIN MARY ❤️

December 8,2020

O God, who by the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, didst prepare a worthy dwelling place for thy Son, we beseech thee that, as by the foreseen death of this, thy Son, thou didst preserve her from all stain, so too thou wouldst permit us, purified through her intercession, to come unto thee. Through the same Lord Jesus Christ, thy Son, who livest and reignest with thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, world without end.
Amen.
