First East Africa Regional Tourism Expo.
It was great time to attend the first East Africa Tourism Expo done in Arusha Tanzania. Several members from Cultural Tourism programmes attended the expo and displayed their products. The expo took place from 9th to 11th of October 2021 at TGT grounds, Arusha Kisongo.

Our Story

Tanzania Association of Cultural Tourism Organizers (TACTO) is a not for profit membership based organization registered in June 25th 2000 with its headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania. The association fosters working relationships with any or all organizations or group of persons dealing in cultural tourism or similar activities in Tanzania or elsewhere to empower the productive poor to transform the lives of their families through the development of sustainable micro-enterprises in the way of cultural tourism products for sale to tourists. The organization is currently partnering with Norwegian government in its program so called FK Norway. The programme supports youths from different countries of Asia, Latin America and Africa. It supports them on going to the exchange program to other country for the aim of sharing knowledge, skills and work experience with other youths in the given country. On the picture above, is Isaac, FK participant from Kenya Community based Tourism Association who came to Our organization TACTO, and here is in field work at Mto wa Mbu cultural tourism programme, talking to managing director Mr Wesley Kileo on issues related to tourism development in Tanzania.
