The tombs have since 2001 been a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the only 3 in Uganda (The other two are Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Rwenzori Mountains National Park). The tombs can now be visited on a tour of Kampala.

The finest displays of Rwanda’s dynamic traditional musical and dance styles performed by Intore Dance Troupe at Gorilla Guardians Villages in Kinigi.

While the focus at Volcanoes National Park falls squarely onto the , this ‘Cultural Village’ puts spotlight back onto the people and culture.
Visitors get to experience Rwandan Village life by grinding seeds, firing bows and arrows, taking part in the dance 💃 and even participating in the marriage of a King to his queen.

It is a stage-managed atmosphere, but it is a brilliant complement to gorilla tracking and the fees paid goes directly to local communities.

Spotted Hyaena. Unmistakable. Its heavily built forequarters stand higher than its rump.

Hyaenas live in “clans” usually led by an Alpha Female (3 or 4 to 15 in a clan) and they are territorial and mark their territories with a**l gland secretions, urine and the distinctive white droppings.

They are usually regarded as cowardly scavengers but they are efficient hunters, they can hunt singly or in small groups depending on the target prey. They chase other predators or scavengers from their kills.

You can encounter these in Uganda’s savanna parks while on game drives.

Mountain Gorillas may take the spot light when travellers think of primates and apes in Africa, but get the forests where they live trembling.

Tracking these apes, being between slumbers on the forests floor, learning their interactions, is an experience one takes vividly unto the rest of their life.

Be part of our primate safaris this summer. Let’s roam the forests of Kibale, Kalinzu, Budongo, and the Kyambura Gorge in Uganda 🇺🇬 or the Nyungwe Forest of Rwanda 🇷🇼 for an encounter with Chimpanzees.

Contrary to the popular opinion that the dry seasons of June-September and December to February are the best for safaris because its the peak season, the off season/green season can be so rewarding.
•Tanzania is not only worth during the Great Migration Periods
•Lodges are less occupied, services are exceptionally good and more personal.
•Less vehicles at sightings
•Uganda and Rwanda’s rainy season fear? It’s no problem, wildlife sightings are amazing (animals don’t travel for water, they are everywhere), the fields are green and beautiful for photography (rejuvenated).

Our Uganda safaris visit Lake Mburo frequently. Game is abundant: It includes an amazing birdlife, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, elands, zebras, impalas, waterbucks, among others.

This gem is one of Uganda’s uniquely explored parks, with activities like walking, biking 🚴, horseback rides, and game drives. We love our guests to explore the park by because it gives much details.

Our guests had a walking encounter while visiting.

There are plenty highlights at Queen Elizabeth National Park and of these is the ability to travel chimpanzees in the Kyambura Gorge.

This time around the walk wasn’t the usual one of going deep inside the gorge as the Chimps were in a tree at the starting point. The walk into the magnificent underground rainforest is amazing but what beats finding them this close?

Tracks and Signs.

Recognition of tracks and signs left behind by passing mammals is a top skill for naturalist or safari guide. Print identification, foot morphology, bed, homes & nests 🪹, kill sites, they all add to the experience of safari and game drives.

Wildlife can sometimes be hard to spot, but these tracks and signs show that animals have been hanging! They help to also understand animal behaviors.

The Giant African Snail 🐌.

They can reach up to 32 grams in weight and have a cone shaped shell 🐚. The color of these depends on the environment (some are brown or dark colored, reddish brown with pale yellow markings.

They are hermaphrodites (they have both male and female reproductive organs), but they still need to mate with another snail for reproduction. They are interesting creatures and usually not encountered but sometimes in the tropical forests there is always a chance.

Our journeys through the western safari circuit always follow the dirty red road from Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This is always through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth N.Park in the south.

This area is famous for its small population of lions that climb trees. It is uncommon for lions to climb trees despite their counterpart cats: the leopards being great climbers.

Our guests who were from Bwindi (Gorilla Tracking) met these lazy felines resting on the fig branches. These lions are some of the most sought after encounters on the route and they showed up.

An Unforgettable Experience Best Done on Foot.

Lake Mburo National Park is one of the few places in Uganda where one can experience walking with wildlife. Most parks in Uganda (Except the forest parks) have less of walking.

The park is less on the big 5 and this gave it an advantage over the parks to allow unique exploration (on-foot with an armed ranger guide). The experience of walking gives much more details than one could have while on a game drive because the most small details are caught.

Have the experience of walking at the park included in your journey to through Uganda. Book your summer safari on the address below ⬇️

Arusha City is located at the base of volcanic Mt. Meru. It’s a gateway to safari destinations on Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit and to Africa’s highest peak, 5,895m Mt. Kilimanjaro, lying some 100 kilometers northeast. To the west lies Serengeti National Park, home to wildlife including lions, rhinoceros, giraffes and leopards. Annual migrations feature huge herds of wildebeests crossing its plains.

The city has amazing life, chaotic traffic, the people, markets (Masai Market) and walks at Mt. Meru Forest, the cultural Centre and Tanzanite Museum.

The Akagera N.Park is Rwanda’s Gem & not because it is the only savanna park in the country. After 9 years, Rwanda has managed to revive some fabulous biodiversity. Rhino populations are increasing after the introduction in 2021 November.

Elephants 🐘 and Buffalo 🐃 herds are growing, lions 🦁 are up from 7 in 2015 to 58 today. It is great work by and . Each year there is a positive transformation and conservation projects: The park is thriving and amazing to visit.

Our guests had a chance to see all the Big 5 in a single morning Game Drive.

The Salt Miners of Lake Katwe, Uganda.

Salt mining has been a source of prosperity for decades at Lake Katwe despite the miners work today being in appalling conditions.

Workers extract 3 main products from the Lake: blocks of rock salt; high-quality salt crystals that can be used as table salt 🧂; and salty mud that is used as salt licks for cattle.

The lake is a crater situated inside Queen Elizabeth National Park, an internationally important area of savannah that is home to a wide range of species. Some streams drain into the lake but it has no outlets, and the intense evaporation during the dry seasons leads to water becoming extremely salty.

Miners construct salt pans at the margins of the lake to intensify the evaporation and concentrate the salt. Salt extraction in the main lake is done by males in the chest deep waters and women in the salt pans. The air here is infused with the bad egg smell of hydrogen sulphide gas and traces of ammonia. A visit to the lake gives much detail on this generational activity.

Queen Elizabeth National Park on the foot of Rwenzori Mountains offers so much in terms of diversity. We have made sure we savoured the park and allowed adequate time to explore it.

Today the morning game drive with an additional breakfast 🍳 in the bush was an amazing way to conclude our 3 Nights stay at this beautiful park. A chance to meet 3 of the 5 brothers of one of the Kasenyi Plains pride, buffalo herds, antelope like the Kobs, Waterbucks, bushbuck and birds.

Mother lions raise the next generation of these big cats. They hunt together and defend their young ones from the Africa’s most dangerous animals.

It’s not just hyenas, leopards or other predators but fellow lions too. If cubs are to survive, the pride works together bound by blood. Making sure the cubs grow is a mother’s first task.

In the picture a mother and cub was captured by our guide while at Murchison Falls National Park.

Moment of peace.

A leopard 🐆 captured resting on a dead tree at Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This versatile predator varies greatly in habitat, uses stealth and camouflage to ambush prey at close quarters.

They are also agile climbers and unique among big cats and they are not mistaken for any other predator because of their long tail (usually curled at the white tip), the beautiful rosette 🏵️ patterning.
