The Plains zebra, sometimes referred to as the common zebra, is the only zebra species found in Uganda. Due to their high levels of sociality, it is common to see zebras interacting with other non-threatening wild animals while they feed and drink. Plains (common) zebras live between 20 and 25 years on average.

Chimpanzees are indeed a species of great ape native to the forest and savannah regions of tropical Africa. They belong to the genus Pan, along with bonobos. They are our closest living relatives, sharing a high degree of genetic similarity with humans.

Chimpanzees are known for their high level of intelligence and are considered one of the most intelligent animals on Earth. They
have been observed using tools in their natural habitat, such as using sticks to extract termites from mounds or rocks to crack open nuts. This tool use demonstrates their ability to solve problems and adapt to their environment.

Communication among chimpanzees is complex and involves various vocalizations, gestures, and facial expressions. They use these forms of communication to convey information, express emotions, and coordinate group activities. Chimpanzees also exhibit social behaviors, living in communities
or troops that can range in size from a few individuals to over a hundred.

These great apes have been extensively studied in the field of primatology, providing valuable insights into our own evolutionary history and behavior. However, it is important to note that chimpanzees are an endangered species due to habitat loss, poaching, and other threats. Efforts are being made to protect them and their natural habitats to ensure their survival in the wild.
