Minister of Tourism Wildlife & Antiquities Hon. Tom Butime has innagurated the 5th Board of Uganda Tourism Board at a ceremony held at Mestil Hotel.
The new Board is chaired by Ms. Pearl Hoareau Kakooza who also doubles as TUGATA Chairperson. Others on the board are; Ms. Olive Birungi -UCAA, Ms. Sandra Sally Kebirungi - Min. Finance, Mr. Vincent Operemo - NPA, Mr. Stephen Masaba - UWA, Mr. Vivian Lyazi- MTWA, Ms. Magret Ojara- NACCAU, Mr. Tony Mulinde - AUTO, Mr. Rashid Kiyimba - UHOA, Mr. Kawamara Ronald - General Tourism, Ms. Lily Ajarova CEO UTB.

Our members have participated in the 2nd Edition of Travel roadshow organised by the South African Embassy in partnership with South African Tourism and TUGATA.
South African Ambassador to Uganda Her Excellence Lulama Xingwana noted the need of Intra-Africa Travel by breaking the visa barriers between Uganda and South Africa as the two destinations embark on economic recovery plans.

Day 2 of the 2nd Uganda - Kenya Coast Tourism Conference happening in Diani / Mombasa.
Today's discussions are focused on Consolidating Partnerships within the two destinations.
Our Chairperson Ms. Pearl Hoareau on the panel alongside industry leaders within the region shares opportunities, challenges, and wayforward that comes with partnership.
Emphasis is made on the concept of complementarity between Uganda and Kenya Coast Tourism products.

TUGATA is privileged to be part of the 2nd Uganda - Kenya Coast Tourism Conference and Excusion.
TUGATA delegation is lead by our Chairperson Ms Pearl Hoareau Kakooza and Mr James Mutebi our committee member and over 20 TUGATA members that are joined by Tourism stakeholders from both Uganda and Kenya.
The conference happening in Kwale County at Diani Reef is organised under the theme "Consolidating Networks Synegies and diversity to maximise the tourism potential between Uganda and Kenya Coast region".

Uganda Airlines maiden direct flight to India safely landed in Mumbai aboard 58 passengers. UR will ply Mumbai route 3Xweekly (Monday, Wednesday, Saturday).
TUGATA is well represented on the maiden flight by our Vice Chairperson Ms. Irene Nanyombi.
The route to the far east is seen to enhance bi-lateral trade relations among others.

Privileged to have the Prime Minister of Uganda Hon. Robina Nabbanja visiting the TUGATA stall during the World Tourism Day celebrations in Hoima City.
This year's celebrations were celebrated under theme "TOURISM & GREEN INVESTMENTS".

In a bid to strengthen our members services, our board member Mr. James Mutebi together with our secretariat GM Mr. Nicholas Kalayango successfully concluded a 5 day's skills based training in areas of governance, revenue generation and growth.
The training powered by PSFU was geared towards transforming the way our services can make a positive impact to our membership in a rapidly changing world.

Yesterday the TUGATA Executive Board led by our Chairperson Ms Pearl Hoareau Kakooza held a fruitful meeting with Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) CEO Mr. Stephen Assimwe where a number of issues were discussed that included; business support, capacity and skills development of the travel trade among others.

At TUGATA we continue to explore our key strategies that enhance our members development.

TUGATA members have fully attended a sector specific training focusing on Key areas of digital marketing, Customer care, GDS applications, Tourism Regulations and Standardisation held at Fairway Hotel.
The training organized by Uganda Tourism Board served as a baseline in re-skilling and up-skilling of travel agents a right path towards improving competitiveness.

TUGATA membership led by our treasure Ms. Monalisa Aman proudly partcipated at the annual Association of Eastern and Southern Africa Travel Agents (AESATA) Conference held in Zanzibar from 22nd - 23rd May 2023 with the theme " Rebuilding Sustainable and Resilient Travel Agencies in Africa".
The conference was officially graced by Hon. Simai Mohammed Said Minister of Tourism and Heritage Zanzibar brought together more than 100 participants from Travel industry leaders, government officials and stakeholders from over 9 countries in Eastern and Southern Africa to discuss the future of Travel in the region.

Through our partners South African Tourism, TUGATA recently was well represented by our GM Nicholas Kalyango at Africa's Travel Indaba one of the largest Tourism marketing expos on the African continent.
The trade show provided an ideal platform for Tourism exhibitors to showcase their offerings to international and local trade buyers, DMC"s and leisure Tourism service providers.
It was also a formidable platform for TUGATA to forster her collaborations with cross border industry partners.
