Warthogs are wild pigs with large heads, bristly manes, long legs, and protruding tusks. They have three pairs of fatty lumps on their face that look like warts but are actually protective bumps. Warthogs are grazers that eat grasses and plants, and use their snouts to dig for roots and bulbs. They are usually seen in family groups called sounders. When threatened, warthogs can run at speeds of up to 30 miles per hour. Warthogs can be found in a variety of habitats, including grasslands, woodlands, and savannahs. They are common in Uganda's national parks, such as Lake Mburo, Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth, and Kidepo Valley.

Gorilla trekking in Uganda is a guided hike through a dense rainforest in search of gorillas in their natural habitat. The trek can last from 30 minutes to several hours, depending on the gorilla family's location. Once you find the gorillas, you'll have about an hour to observe them as they play, groom each other, and forage for food. You can go gorilla trekking in two sections of Uganda: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest has 17 gorilla groups, making it a good place to see gorillas in the wild. You can also take a Gorilla Habituation Experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you'll spend four hours trekking through the forest with park rangers in search of gorilla families.

Queen Elizabeth national park is understandably Uganda’s most popular tourist destination. It’s a diverse ecosystem, which include sprawling savanna, shady, humid forest, sparkling lakes and fertile wetlands, make it the ideal habitat for classic big game, ten primate species including chimpanzees and over 600 species of birds. The park includes dozens of enormous craters carved dramatically into rolling green hills, panoramic views of the kazinga channel with its banks lined with hippos, buffalos and elephants, and the endless ishasha plains, whose fig trees hide lions ready to pounce on herds of unsuspecting Ugandan kobs.
