This intimate and romantic vacation retreat is conveniently located 100 miles from Washington D.C. and Baltimore, MD; less than 200 miles from Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, PA. s been lovingly restored and meticulously preserved to its 1820's roots and is tastefully decorated with furnishings that reflect the historic charm of the period. Furnishings include antiques from the 1820 - 1840 period, but modern amenities have been added for comfort and convenience. Boasting a large front porch, the home begs for company to share its breathtaking view of the beautiful surrounding countryside. Gobbler's K**b has been featured in regional magazines, local newspapers, and on national television. The two-story home provides delightful accommodations. The first floor includes a separate dining room with an immense wood burning stone fireplace and a living room with a full-sized sleeper sofa. The kitchen is fully modern, equipped with a microwave oven and other time-saving amenities. Across the hall from the full bathroom is the R and R (Romance and Relaxation) room, featuring a two-person whirlpool bath. The second floor features a master bedroom with a king-sized bed and a second bedroom with a set of twin beds. There is also a charming sitting room between the bedrooms. This winter has been perfect for our guests. They have enjoyed the cozy fires and relaxing. We haven't had a lot of snow which has
allowed guests to use the beautiful trails at Cacapon State Park.
The few days of rain we have had has enticed guests to stay in
and read a good book while listening to the relaxing sound of rain on the roof. We've had more returning guests this year than ever
before and folks already booked for next year. We are blessed.

It is one of those wonderful rainy days here. The patter of the rain on the metal roof is the most soothing feeling. Hanging out with a good book in the rocker in the sitting room occasionally checking out the view toward the mountains. The flowers on the sumac are a brilliant orange -- a reminder that fall is coming.
