Travel hacking is one of my favorite ways to travel. I love traveling anyways but when you know that you are paying less for your trip, it makes the experience much better. The conventional way to travel hack is to use points, such as airline points, or credit card sign-ups. These can be very lucrative and as long as you don’t need to worry too much about signing up for credit cards and having it affect your credit score slightly, it can really pay off. However, it takes a bit of organization and you’ll need to sign up for these credit cards well in advance of your trip in order to effectively utilize your points. Here is where I come in. Is a timeshare presentation worth a 4-night stay in Mexico with $100 gift card and for a bonus a second vacation totally free! Unfortunately me and my husband had to sit through an at minimum 90-minute high-pressure sales presentation where they try to connect with you by asking about your life and what matters to you. We declined in the end (as we always do, though I was pretty close to signing up the first time I ever went!) and as we got our vouchers for the free trip, the salesperson passive aggressively cryptically said: “they aren’t that great anyway, it’s not what you think it to be” Lol. There you have it that is how our timeshare vacationing began.
