Renewing your expired or soon-to-expire U.S. passport just got a lot easier. The State Department reopened its online renewal portal on Wednesday, unveiling a beta program designed to speed up processing for travelers who meet certain criteria in efforts to avoid issues faced last summer.

The limited beta program is available for eligible citizens with specific criteria.

Today, Jessica had her first excursion and got to see Chinstrap Penguins of Orne Harbor! These penguins are known for their distinctive black and white markings, including a narrow black stripe that extends from their chin to their throat. They are also known for their loud vocalizations, which can be heard from up to a mile away.

Chinstrap Penguins are the most abundant penguin species in Antarctica, with an estimated population of over 12 million pairs. They feed on krill, fish, and squid, which they catch by diving underwater.

Antarctica update! Jessica made it to Punta Arenas. Translating to “Sandy Point,” it’s the end of the world!

During her short stay, she visited the statue of Magellan - a stately monument dedicated to adventurer Ferdinand Magellan, erected in the Plaza de Armas in 1920. There is a legend that if you rub the toe of the statue, one day you will return to the city.

Tomorrow it’s breakfast at 2:45 AM, transfer at 3:30, flight to King George Island at 5:00! But, before you feel too bad for her, know that Jessica will be boarding Silversea’s private jet, flying in Business Class straight to King George Island (skipping the notoriously rough Drake Passage), where she’ll board the luxury ship and start her adventure. 👏

Terri Bursch had another amazing day in Phnom Penh! It began with a Buddhist blessing ceremony in Oudoung, the largest monastery of Cambodia, followed by a 400-stair walk to a temple at the hilltop, and an Ox-cart ride through the local village along the riverbank. Later that night they enjoyed a Tuk Tuk ride to explore more of the city!

A few of the sites visited were filmed in “The Amazing Race” and their guide was the guide for the crew filming the episode! What an "Amazing" day with AmaWaterways!!

Terri Bursch and AmaWaterways have arrived in Phnom Penh, Cambodia!

According to legend, this sprawling city was founded by a woman named Penh who found four Buddha statues and built a temple in the area now known as "the hill of Penh." Officially founded in 1434, Phnom Penh fell to the Khmer Rouge regime in 1975, responsible for the murder of approximately two million innocent
Cambodians.

This dark moment in history is chronicled within the city's poignant Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum as well as its ex*****on and burial site. Despite this tragic past, Phnom Penh glitters with treasures, not least of which is the golden Royal Palace complex, where the Cambodian king resides.
Built in 1866, the complex features a Throne Hall with a 59-meter tower and the impressive Pagoda of the Emerald Buddha, which boasts a floor made from more than 500 solid silver blocks and a Buddha adorned with 9,584 diamonds. The remainder of Phnom Penh was built around the palace.

“Today started with a river boat ride to a small village on ‘Evergreen Island’ where houses are built 10-12 feet above the ground to protect them from the rising river as the monsoon seasons come and go. A family welcomed us into their home and told us their story of their life on the island. Later a Rickshaw ride in Tan Chau with stops at a silk weaving and rattan mat weaving workshop!”

Terri's first day on the Mekong aboard the AmaDara!

"Yesterday we embarked on the AmaDara and we were warmly welcomed by the amazing AmaWaterways staff. The AmaDara moored in the middle of the river, so this morning we took a tender into Cai Be to visit the Keit House(UNESCO site) and a local rice paper and candy workshop. The afternoon took us to the local market in Sa Dec and the Cao Dai Temple. Our guide Minh is amazing- a walking encyclopedia of the Vietnam story!"

“After a good night sleep at the beautiful Saigon Sofitel, our first day in Vietnam started with lots of walking. We saw the Botanical gardens and zoo, the Vietnam History Museum and a Water Puppet Show.

For the evening, our AMAWaterway’s Cruise director “Duy” recommended Urban Ventures Vespa Tour for a Saigon At Night tour and they did not disappoint! We had an amazing evening, riding on a vintage Vespa, experiencing the sites of Saigon. We crossed bridges to see the river lights, went to a rooftop bar to see the city from above, ate Banh-mi from the most famous street vendor in Ho Chi Minh, toured through the flower markets and old and new Saigon on the Vespa, ate dinner at a seafood restaurant and ended the evening at a night club!

Whew, we packed in a lot of adventure for one day! 😍 So grateful to be sharing this adventure with Rachel!❤️”
