Labor Day in my mind is the unofficial end of summer, which means I can’t let the day pass without sharing my cute Virtual Summer Series medals! This summer’s theme was snacks and included some of my favorite Mickey-shaped treats. The virtual series can be done anytime, anywhere, and I’m a sucker for RunDisney bling. 🏅

We started and ended Summer 2024 at the most magical place on Earth! We took a girls trip when school got out, then had our annual family summer vacay at Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort! We always find new things to do each trip, and it’s always a fun time!

Even though school is about to start again, it’s not too early to start planning for Spring Break or Summer 2025! I’d love to help you start planning!

I can’t believe it’s already been 2 weeks since I checked off a bucket list item and visited Disneyland Paris! It was beautiful, and this might be my new favorite castle! 🩷 In case you’re wondering, YES I can book Disneyland Paris and YES I would definitely go back!

While we do take cruises for the onboard fun, we also love cruising to experience new destinations. This cruise, we visited the following ports of call. I recommend reserving your Port Adventures when your booking window opens as some do fill up!

Cozumel: We did a Ruins, Chocolate, and Beach Break excursion.

Grand Cayman: We did a Grand Cayman highlights excursion.

Jamaica: We pre-booked a Good Hope Estate excursion but cancelled it at the Port Adventures desk because we wanted to spend more time on the ship!

Castaway Cay: We did not prebook an excursion, but I ran the self-paced 5K that morning before spending lots of time on the beach! We were able to rent bikes there and an aquatrike based on availability. Also, the kids spent time at the beach kids club! Fun Fact: the staff comes off the ship and hosts kids club while on the island - the girls did this for a couple of hours while we went to the adults-only side of the island - it was amazing!

“Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me!” 🏴‍☠️ Pirate nights aboard DCL are so fun, from the photo ops and characters, free bandanas, themed dinners, shows, and fireworks!

I could really go for a night ride on the AquaDuck or a private hot tub/heated lounge chair at the Senses Spa right about now! We’re almost to Friday!

I get asked often if certain things are “worth it” on a cruise. For us, we always prepay our gratuities and select the travel insurance. For the last 2 cruises, we’ve also pre-purchased the photo package. We downloaded over 200 photos! This time, we also went with the length of cruise Rainforest Pass from Senses Spa. This is the only add-on where we questioned if it was totally worth it. Because we wanted to spend time with the girls, we probably didn’t use it as much as we should have. But, it was awesome to have and I’d definitely reconsider it for a future adults-only cruise for just Matt and me!

Fun Tip! The stateroom doors on DCL are magnetic, so many guests will bring magnets, pictures, and more to decorate! We loved seeing all of the creativity as we wandered the halls, and it was nice for us to easily identify our room too. We did not bring these magnets with us; the gift shop saved the day! But, I do recommend this for a bit of extra fun. Also, if you join a Facebook group for your cruise, fish extender groups may also be available to formally exchange little gifts with other passengers.

Here’s some Monday humor to start your week! I 10 out of 10 recommended having your family full-on match for at least one dinner on your cruise. My husband’s reaction was hilarious, and now I’m planning it for all of our future cruises. 😂

Did you know that there are scavenger hunts available on Disney Cruise Line? On the Disney Fantasy, the girls played both Muppets and Villian-themed hunts around the ship using an interactive card and map. It was so fun!

There are certain activities we always look forward to while sailing on Disney Cruise Line.

1. Kids Clubs: The girls love all of the activities offered, and hey, free childcare. 😉
2. Senses Spa: I always try to book a massage while on our cruises!
3. Trivia: I’m pretty competitive with these, ha!
4. Pools & AquaDuck Water Slide
5. Broadway-Style Shows
6. Animation Classes
7. On-Board Movie Theater: Did you know that DCL plays movies for free during cruises, and if a new movie releases during your sailing, it’s available the same day at no extra cost?!
8. Room Service: Room Service is also included in the cost of your cruise, but some items may be available for a nominal fee. We ordered chocolate chip cookies and popcorn ($3.25) during our last trip! We also love coming back in the evenings to the towel animals, chocolates, and bunk beds.
9. Food: I probably overate most meals on the cruise because it was so good, and the kids LOVED the endless soft-service ice cream.
10. Atmosphere: We love the quality of DCL, from sitting on our balconies, to the cleanliness of the ship, and the friendliness of the staff. It just feels like home! 🥹

After a few short days of Walt Disney World, we took an Uber to Port Canaveral to board our cruise! We sailed on the same ship as last year, but this year we sailed for 7 nights to the Western Caribbean with stops in Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and Disney’s Castaway Cay. 🏖️ There are a few important dates to remember when booking a Disney cruise:

1. Final Payment Date: You will need to be paid in full before you can begin booking onboard activities.
2. Onboard Activities Booking Window: This is when you can begin securing port excursions and spa appointments for your trip.
3. Online Check-In: This is when you can check into your cruise by uploading your documentation (such as passports and headshots), as well as register for kids clubs and other onboard activities. Once you complete online check-in, you can select your port arrival time. The earlier the better because that’s when you can board the ship! My biggest tips are having pictures of your documentation and headshots before your window opens for easier and faster upload. Also, online check-in is midnight EST which is 11 pm CST!

This trip, we preordered the photo package and the length of cruise Rainforest Pass through the spa, as well as port excursions for 3 of the 4 ports. We did not have to prepay for these activities, as they were charged to our account once we boarded the ship.

I also purchased the internet package once we boarded the ship.

We had a very smooth pre-travel process! Though I can’t guarantee this for everyone, we were able to board the ship earlier than our scheduled arrival time and we were able to move around/cancel some port excursions and appointments without any fees. 🙌🏼 Disney really took care of us, and we love their ongoing service and quality! ❤️

Do you want to know how we started our Magic Kingdom morning with 3 rides secured by 7 am?!

We purchased Genie+ at 6:45 am.

1. We secured a virtual queue for Tron right at 7 am (virtual queues are free to all guests).
2. We secured our first Genie+ Lightning Lane for Big Thunder Mountain right after.
3. We purchased an Individual Lightning Lane for 7 Dwarves Mine Train after that.

Then, we rope-dropped Space Mountain. 🙌🏼

We love to do the “big” or busy rides first thing in the morning before the parks get too crowded.

We also had to get a picture of us in the teacups to match our Minnie and Daisy shirts because these girls just wanted to have fun!

On the first day of trip, we started our morning at Hollywood Studios and then parkhopped to Epcot for the Flower and Garden Festival, which is my favorite! Other festivals offered at Epcot throughout the year are Festival of the Arts, Food & Wine, and Festival of the Holidays. I love seeing the flowers bloom, and a violet lemonade is always a must have!

The Monday after vacation is ROUGH. 😂 But, I have so many pictures and videos to help me remember and relive our trip! ❤️

We started our trip with a stay at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. Honestly, it’s my favorite moderate-level hotel because it feels like a deluxe resort! I always recommend staying in a Preferred Room or Tower Room which is close to the lobby. We were pixie-dusted an upgrade to a one-bedroom suite! Of course this is never guaranteed; we didn’t request it, but were pleasantly surprised when we got to our room. ❤️

The resort grounds are beautiful, and we love the views, recently renovated rooms, quick-service options, onsite restaurants, and pools! The only downside to this hotel is that it is bus transportation only, but that trade off was fine for us!

Back to reality after 10 wonderful days of Spring Break vacation! We spent a few days at Walt Disney World Resort before boarding the Disney Fantasy, which was my 4th Disney Cruise! I’m definitely glad to be back in my own bed, but I’m missing the sun, service, and food. I’ll be posting recaps of our trip over the next few days, so stay tuned! While I do love to travel on my own, I also love to try new things and post my experiences to help YOU on your vacations too! ❤️

Yesterday, I celebrated 6 years as a travel agent with Magical Moments Vacations! 💜 and, I was able to celebrate on Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay! When I started my small business in 2018, I had no idea what to expect, but I’m thankful every day that I’ve been able to help nearly 270 families with 550+ vacations and reservations. I’m really just a big Disney, Universal, theme park, and cruise nerd and appreciate every single client who has trusted me to help them plan their vacations. Here’s to year 7! 🏰 💫 🚢

I love traveling and exploring new places! Last week, my corporate job sent me to Singapore! I found myself halfway around the world and ended up at a theme park - Universal Singapore. Honestly, it tracks. 😂 It was a great experience and I saw lots of the city too!

Earlier this month, I did something I’ve never done before. 😜 I ran a half marathon in Walt Disney World Florida, then flew to Disneyland California the following week to run another half marathon (plus a 5K and 10K) to complete the RunDisney Coast to Coast Challenge!

While it was a busy two weeks of back-to-back travel, it was honestly so much fun and a great way to kick-off 2024!

The Disney magic is present on both coasts, but there are differences between the parks. I value the time to learn and experience them so that I can best serve my clients.

2023 was a great year with MMV! I had the opportunity to travel to Disney World 3x (once for a RunDisney event), Universal Orlando 2x, take the girls on their first Disney Cruise, and experience Halloween at Disneyland! (There were a few other non-MMV trips too to Sea World and Spain!) You can always make more money, but for me, it’s about the memories!

This was my highest earnings year since I started my small business in 2018, and I could not have done it without all of your support! THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me along the way; it means the world. ❤️

For those interested in a trip to Disneyland, I highly recommend a parkhopper pass with Genie+ (yes, you can add on Genie+ at the time of ticket purchase, unlike Disney World). Parkhopping is so easy (a quick walk across as the esplanade), and I feel we absolutely got our money’s worth with shorter wait times. Additionally, photopass photos are also included in Genie+ for the day (also a difference from Disney World). As always, if you are ever thinking about a trip to a Disney destination (Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and/or Aulani), please let me know and I’d love to help you! ❤️

Even though we tried to experience Disneyland attractions that we don’t normally do “at home” in Walt Disney World, we definitely still experienced some of our favorites, such as Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Soarin, Toy Story Mania, and more! Of course, I never let us skip the castle pictures!

In addition to the Halloween seasonal offerings, we tried to experience more of the Disneyland-specific attractions during this trip, so we spent lots of time in California Adventure at Pixar Pier, Avengers Campus, and Cars Land. Ainsley experienced her first “upside down” ride on Incredicoaster (we rode it 4x) and both girls rode Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout, which is similar to Terror of Terror (I think GOTG is better 😉). Webslingers is such a fun Spiderman-themed ride, and Ainsley beat us all, LOL. The Cars Land Halloween decorations were SO CUTE! Over in Disneyland, we rode Indiana Jones 3x, some of the classic Fantasyland rides no longer offered at WDW, and the Matterhorn.

Another Disneyland seasonal experience we hadn’t experienced before until this trip was the Haunted Mansion’s Nightmare Before Christmas Overlay! You can tell the imagineers put a lot of thought and effort into the attraction. The narration, decor, and music were so well done!
