Many, many aspects of this house (and it's energy) enticed me to purchase it in Fort Morgan last year. A very big part of it was that I knew I could be creative in this space.

With the amazing assistance (and practical input) From "Mr. Morgan" --not to be confused with Lil Miss Morgan, lol-- we created something "pretty Rad" as he would say!!

1st pic is the "Before", following photos are the after!! (the Before was great, but I needed to put my stamp on it)

I had an idea in my head and Mr Morgan helped me bring it to life! He's absolutely on point--It is RAD!

Love our guests as much as they loved their stay!!

"Where do I start! The Dragonfly Cottage was our home away from home. My fam couldnt be happier to have spent the week here. It had enough space for each to have privacy lol and our furbaby was so good. He adjusted so well. We wanted to visit the historic site and ride the ferry and the Dragonfly is a really short drive away. Colleen shared important info beforehand and it helped so much once we got there. Suggestions were so accurate and we enjoyed exploring the area. Its literally a 5min walk to the beach, we decided to drive lol we had heavy things for our set up, but they had setups you could rent so its no biggie if dont have it. Overall the stay was great and would def recommend!!!"

One of the many things that makes Dragonfly Cottage (and Fort Morgan) unique is that the Navy Cove Oyster beds are practically in the front yard! We have a book on oyster farming at the house, but it was written about a farm in New England. (same concept of course though)
You can literally walk to this operating oyster farm where you will learn about the ecology and geology of Mobile Bay and how they raise oysters using sustainable aquaculture techniques. The have walking tours most Mondays at 10am & 2pm, kids 10 & under are free.

Not interested in a tour? You can eat these delicious oysters on the half shell right down the road at Sassy Bass Amazing Grill or buy some in their market to bring back & shuck yourself. They also sell Navy Cove oyster hats/shirts.

(Those black blobs in the cove are the oyster beds)
