HAPPY MANATEE APPRECIATION DAY!!!

Manatees have some amazing abilities one of which is their "marching molars" this means manatees are constantly losing and regrowing teeth. Because of the vegetation they eat that is pulled out of sand they are chewing sand constantly grinding down their teeth so they need new teeth constantly. They're elephant cousins do the same thing but they cannot do it their entire life like the manatee.

Because of this manatees are constantly teething so they like to chew on things like boat lines. So please be aware of what you have in the water around your dock and boats. And please be very careful when starting your motors because these animals often go up to boats being naturally curious.

Help us protect this species! They need all the help we can get an hour knowledge is our biggest tool in helping them.

You never know who is going to drop by on our Eco Tours. . In this case it was a juvenile Yellow-crowned night heron. This little guy was sitting on top of the boat and when I got a little closer he took off and I just happened to click the button and this is the shot I got. Looks like a mixture of confusion and disgust to me lol. Pretty much the same look I give at the snowbirds when they're driving around Florida this time of year.

PLEASE CLEAN UP YOUR FISHING LINE! PLEASE DON'T CUT THE LINE OF YOU HOOK A BIRD. This is a death sentence for birds. Please help me stop this from happening!

Just rescued this laughing gull with line all over it and a hook down it's throat. It is being taken to a local wildlife hospital but this needs to stop!

Fisherman why, if you care so much about fishing are you not taking the steps to make sure our environment and wildlife are safe so you can continue to be so what you love?

So this just happened!! Waiting for my schedule tour at Bonita Bay and found this beautiful small Bobcat.

Usually quite timid and scared of people there are quite a few around. They pose no threat to you or your pets as long as you keep your distance. They usually hunt small prey items such as rodents birds and lizards.

How amazing is it to see these beautiful creatures out in the wild this is probably one of the first and best sightings I've ever seen in the wild.

Goes to show what amazing wildlife is around you even in gated community such as this when they find a way to balance nature and human needs.

Found this beautiful green darner or common green darner, after its resemblance to a darning needle, it is a species of dragonfly in the family Aeshnidae. One of the most common and abundant species throughout North America, it also ranges south to Panama. How amazing is this creature!!!?!?! Found this guy on a nature walk this afternoon.

Great day for the gators to get some sun! These beautiful creatures ARE NOT monsters. They DO NOT want to eat humans. They are only a danger when humans ignore common sense. If there is water in Florida and you can't see the bottom you should treat it like there is a gator and therefore respect it.

Found a sick royal turn today on the beach. It will be heading off to here shortly hopefully with a positive outcome.

Did not see any visible external injuries.

Some of these rescues happen very quickly so video is near impossible for me to get on my own I always put the animals welfare ahead of anything else. I was able to get these pictures before closing up the box and getting it to a warm dry quiet spot.
