Hello Neighbors,

I wanted to provide a couple of quick, and very last minute, updates.

First, the McPherson Ranch Air Show Day at the Park! We were undecided on whether we were going to host this event this year because of a lack of volunteers. At the last board meeting, I volunteered to coordinate the events as best I could given the short time frame. There has also been some confusion around whether the event will be held on Saturday or Sunday.

We will gather at the park starting at noon on Saturday. Food will be served as close to 12:00 as possible. Officer Sawyer with The Fort Worth Police Department will join us for a portion of the day. We will also have the Fort Worth Fire Department arriving around 1pm. George and Marlee Shaw have volunteered to do face paining for the kids.

This has always been a great way to meet your neighbors, so come on out, bring a chair or blanket and enjoy the planes flying overhead!

Second, many residents are planning to do garage sales this weekend. In the past, we have known which houses were participating and were able to post a map on the community website. Unfortunately, we do not know who is participating this weekend.

Normally, we would put out signs for community events starting the Monday or Tuesday before the event. We have found that if the signs are left out for too long, they are targets for vandalism. Since the Annual Meeting will be held next Thursday, we decided to wait to put out the signs. Because we need to meet quorum in order to hold the Annual Meeting, it is more important for a big turnout at that event than the Air Show or Garage Sale. I apologize for any inconvenience that the lack of signs this week may have caused.

I just received notification of a Positive West Nile sample that was collected near the Northwest corner of our neighborhood. The collection was not taken from within our neighborhood, but was very close.

Please use a suitable bug repellent when/wherever applicable.

For your information: There have been reports of packages being stolen from front porches. As many of us are receiving Christmas gifts this time of year, it may be a good idea to let a neighbor know you are expecting a package if you will not be home that day or until the evening. I know we have a lot of wonderful neighbors here, so hopefully we can look out for one another!

Thinking ahead, other neighborhoods in the area (Villages of Woodland Springs and Harvest Ridge) are working on their plans for a fall garage sale. The current proposed date for a sale is September 27th. Do we as a community have interest in coordinating our garage sale date with the surrounding neighborhoods and going with the Sept. 27th date?

I'm reposting this is that hopefully it will show up in everyone's news feed. A report from one of our McR neighbors:
Dear neighbors, PLEASE avoid N. Caylor right now. While fortunately there appear to be no injuries, a car and a school bus have collided in part of the S curve and traffic is backing up. EMS is just getting on scene so I'm sure it will be a mess for a while. If you have kiddos on their way home from school that are running late that may be why. I hope that all of your kids get home soon and safely! Lots of prayers!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Garage Sale the weekend before last. It looked like there was some good traffic through the neighborhood checking out the sales!

This weekend was the official pool opening, it was uncharacteristically cool, so I didn't happen to see anyone splashing about, but I'm sure that will change in the coming weeks!!

On another topic, there are a couple dogs that have been found by people while out and about in the neighborhood. Come visit the page to find out about these missing pups.

McPherson Ranch Home Page

Many have asked about a community garage sale and it is this month! Friday-Saturday, April 26-27, 2013, 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
1. A map of participating homes is published on the http://www.mcphersonranchhoa.com/ website. (If you'd like to participate and are not currently included on the map, please email [email protected] with your address to join in on the fun.)
2. The city of Fort Worth requires a permit for holding a garage sale. These have to be obtained individually by the person who is conducting the sale (there is not a blanket permit for the community). The deadline to obtain a permit for the dates of the community sale is April 22nd. Permits are easy to obtain, just go here: http://fortworthtexas.gov/forms/default.aspx?ekfrm=34386

Another exciting announcement: The pool season is starting in less than a month!! The McPherson Ranch pool will be open from May 11-September 22nd. For more information about the pool times, fobs and rules, please check out the community website here: http://www.mcphersonranchhoa.com/pool.php

Thanks to EVERYBODY who pitched in to make the last few weeks in our community a success! We made quorum at our annual meeting thanks to all of those who participated through attending in person or sending in a proxy.

We hope you'll be able to make it out to the annual meeting this evening, but for those who can't there is nothing like some friendly competition to make sure all homes are represented either in person or by proxy.

Collect your neighbor's proxies and come to the annual meeting tonight (starts at 6:45pm at Kay Granger Elementary)! The homeowner with the most proxies will win a $50 Kroger gift card! (One proxy per household.)

Option 2: You can bring your proxy to the home of Brandon Fickle, Justin Botros or anyone you know who'll be attending this evening to ensure you household is represented this evening.! (PS-Brandon and Justin are not eligible for the gift card.)

You may have noticed an orange tag on your door about curb numbers. If you elect to add curb numbers outside of your home, please keep in mind that the approved styles are:
i. Black rectangle with white numbers
ii. U.S.A. themed rectangle in red, white, and blue background or flag design with numbers in red, white, blue, or black.
iii. Texas themed rectangle in red, white, and blue background or flag design with numbers in red, white, blue, or black

Also, Paint on curb must be maintained to retain original look over time or be removed and reapplications and touch-ups should be done so that the new rectangle completely aligns with the old rectangle without a shadowing effect.

This evening is the Open House for the new Kroger. It appears that most of the community received the flyer in the mail inviting everyone to their open house from 5-9pm tonight (June 28th).
