Discovered in 1937 near the opening of the Skyline Drive by a local geologist, the Skyline Caverns have welcomed visitors since 1939. A knowledgeable guide will es**rt you through the caverns, explaining the story of its discovery, the natural process of how the caverns and formations formed, and other incredible facts; all of this creates a tour that is educational, exciting, entertaining, and unforgettable. This geologically "young" cavern is still alive and active today. The dripping water you see (and sometimes even feel) throughout is a reminder of this constant growth, the beauty of which is shared with thousands of wide-eyed visitors each year. A limited tour group size along with award-winning lighting systems allow you to enjoy the splendor of Capital Dome, Rainbow Trail, Painted Desert, the Wishing Well, Cathedral Hall, the Shrine, Fairyland Lake, the Anthodities and much, much more. Included are three underground streams and a 37-foot waterfall. Above ground, Skyline Caverns offers two more attractions for all ages: the Skyline Arrow Miniature Train, which runs weather permitting Spring through Fall, and the indoor Enchanted Dragon Mirror Maze, open year-round.
