For centuries, truffle has maintained their status as one of the world’s most sought-after delicacies. In fact, Italy host a number of festivals dedicated to experiencing the variety of truffles and the many ways they can enjoyed. They should never be cooked, instead grated onto just about any food. As part of the mushroom family, they grow and mature just below the ground or right at the surface. The best way to dig these treasures up is with a well-trained dog as they are easer to train and have an incredible precision compare to pigs. In 2021, truffle hunting was reconized by UNESCO as one of the world’s intangible cultural traditions.
