“Yesterday was Casey’s last day at Goo Goo before stepping into a 7-4 corporate job and giving him more free time to dedicate to his music career too. 🎶 We love the dream so many come to Nashville to chase and wish him all the best in his next endeavors.

❤️👭We love when our friends and family join us for a tour! This is from our downtown tour guide, Paige:

“It’s always fun to spend time with hometown folks! I met these gals at The Ryman after their tour and hung out with them almost seven hours today!

The three of them have been best friends since they were little and take annual girls’ trips… they came to Nashville a few years ago and I met up with them then as well. So glad they chose to do a Walk Eat Nashville tour with me… and they must have been excited… they booked this tour back in January!

They also brought me a couple of Bootheel watermelons… so Rob will find out how wonderful they really are! 🍉

Thanks for being a bright spot in my day, y’all… much love to all of you! ❤️”

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the sudden passing of Randy Rayburn, a giant in Nashville's culinary world. Randy was more than just a restaurateur; he was a beloved friend and mentor to many, including myself. Over the past 20 years, I've had the privilege of knowing Randy, and for the last 10 years, he has been incredibly supportive of Walk Eat Nashville, graciously welcoming our tours to Midtown Cafe.

Randy's legacy in Nashville's dining scene is monumental, with his restaurants like Sunset Grill, Cabana, and Midtown Cafe becoming beloved staples. His impact extended far beyond the kitchen, inspiring multiple generations of chefs and restaurateurs. He was larger than life, with a personality that made every dining experience unforgettable.

Our hearts go out to his family, especially his children, Duke and Dean, his long-time staff at Midtown Cafe, including our dear friend Doug, and all his friends and family who are left heartbroken. Randy's dream was to support this community, and his legacy will continue to thrive through the many lives he touched.

One of our guides, Chris Chamberlain, and personal friend to Randy said it best: "There may be someone in Nashville better connected than Randy was, but I doubt it. If there is, I bet they don't use their connections for good the way that Randy did."

Rest in peace, Randy. You will be deeply missed.

🍴 We love supporting our local restaurant friends all around Music City!

🏙️ Last night our amazing guide and Platinum Ambassador for the Nashville CVC Teresa dined at Germantown seafood and Southern spot — and she raved about her dinner on our team group chat!

Teresa’s favorite highlights from the night?

📸 “The scallops! So tender - they cut like hot butter! They were in a delicious creamy sauce that had small bits of toasty sourdough. Mushroom risotto wasn’t far behind - so rich! Oyster mushrooms with Carolina gold rice - add a few hazelnuts for a little crunch. Oh my!”

***Pro tip - make your rsvp during happy hour 5-6. Oysters become $2 each and cocktails $10 🥂🍽️ 🩷

Stay safe and weather aware friends ❤️

What’s your go-to stormy night food? We love a comforting bowl of soup — and the daily soup feature from Deb Paquette’s Green Hills restaurant etc. Nashville always hits the mark. Last Saturday, it was a spicy sweet potato and ginger soup, but the options are always good here.

📚 🎼 🍲 Fun Fact Friday is back!

Did you know that you can find a rare type of architecture called “Egyptian Revival” at the Nashville Downtown Presbyterian Church?

During the Civil War, the church (known at that time as First Presbyterian Church) was taken over by Federal forces and used as a hospital on two separate occasions, finally being released to the use of the congregation shortly before the end of the war.

It’s time for another Fun (Foodlover’s) Friday and though you’ve already seen her all over our social media — we’d love to formally introduce you to our beloved Downtown Nashville tour guide, 🌟 Paige!

Hailing from Kennett, Missouri, Paige's love for food began with her grandmother, Mimi, who taught her the art of cooking and sharing. Her passion for nourishing others shines through her church meals, casserole ministry, and more. Paige's zest for life includes food tours, travel, and being a Platinum Ambassador in Nashville. As a self-proclaimed "Bossy" since 2023, she cherishes family, travel, and happiness above all. Get to know Paige Ross through a few of her mantras, fun facts, and the joy she brings to all she meets! 🍴🎶✨

A few of Paige’s mantras she shares at the start of every tour:
* “I have a good time everywhere I go, with everything I do.”
* “There are no strangers, only friends we haven't yet met.”
* “Self and I are best friends. We go everywhere together and we always have each other's backs.”
* “I live to travel... and I travel to live.”
* “Don't measure your life in years, but in experiences.”
* “At the age of 54, I've decided that if something doesn't make me happy or bring me joy, I'm not doing it!”

Here are 5 fun facts about Paige!

* “I am a certified Memphis in May BBQ judge.”
* “Sheryl Crow and I had the same piano teacher growing up in Kennett, Missouri. I played on a piano recital with Sheryl when I was 8 years old.”
* “My toe nails are always polished.”
* “I designed a kitchen that won first place in Taste of Home magazine's Dream Kitchens Contest in 2004.”
* “I've taken seven surprise trips where I haven't know the destination until I opened an envelope just prior to departing. Five plane trips and two road trips; the most recent road trip was to Asheville, North Carolina with WEN CEO Shannon and fellow tour guides Teresa and Tondra.”

Paige moved to Nashville in 2015; her son and daughter-in-love live in Dallas; and her daughter and son-in-love live north of Nashville. Paige upgraded to "Bossy" in 2023 when her first grandchild was born; he is the love of her life!

📰 Have you heard the news? Shane Nasby, the chef/owner behind the popular Cledis Burgers & Beer Garden, just announced a second location this fall in the Bellevue West shopping center!

The new location of Cledis Burgers & Beer will draw inspiration from the original Elm Hill Pike location, while adding an expanded food and beverage menu alongside an impressive selection of beer, wine, and liquor, and a nostalgic and playful interior with heavy ’80s and ’90s inspiration.

“My wife Angela and I are thrilled to bring this restaurant that means so much to us to Bellevue, the community that we’ve called home for over 12 years,” said Nasby. “We love this part of Nashville, and we’re excited to open another outpost of Cledis here to create a great family-friendly spot for our friends and neighbors to enjoy. Our goal in everything we do is to give back, and opening another location gives us even more opportunities to serve our community.”

Cledis is named after Shane’s late grandfather, who was a positive influence in his life and instilled the importance of kindness, generosity, and loving your community. Growing up next door, Shane would help Cledis in his garden, providing food for their family and sharing with neighbors when they could. This spirit of giving is now at the heart of everything Nasby does. Proudly partnering with People Loving Nashville, the Cledis team donates their time and food to provide monthly meals for the unhoused community of Nashville. Since opening their doors, they have donated more than 5,000 meals.

The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner and is located at 7648 Hwy 70 S., Nashville, TN 37221.
