Hispanic Heritage Month continues, and we’re honored to share the story of Erika Andrade—an inspiring leader making an impact in our community. 🌟

Erika Andrade has dedicated 22 years to El Centro, Inc., and as of July 1, 2023, she serves as its President and CEO. Born in the Rio Grande Valley in south Texas, Erika is the proud daughter of a resilient immigrant mother from Guanajuato, Mexico. Her journey is one of dedication and strength, and she works tirelessly to uplift the Hispanic community in Olathe and beyond.

Hispanic Heritage Month is in full swing, and we’re continuing to shine a spotlight on the incredible Hispanic leaders making an impact in Olathe! 🌟

This week, we’re proud to highlight Isabel Gutierrez, a Migrant Advocate for Olathe Public Schools. Isabel works tirelessly to ensure that students who move frequently between school systems are able to stay on track and graduate. In this video, she shares how her Hispanic heritage deeply influences her role and helps her connect with the students and families she serves. 📚✨

Hispanic Heritage Month kicks off Sunday and runs through Oct. 15! This month, the Olathe Chamber is excited to shine a spotlight on the incredible individuals within the Hispanic community who are making a difference in Olathe. Be sure to check back throughout the month for more highlights, and don’t forget to visit our friends at Visit Olathe, the convention and visitors arm of the Olathe Chamber, for even more stories about how our strong Hispanic leaders help drive tourism in our wonderful community.

First up, we're thrilled to recognize Erik Erazo! Few have made a bigger impact on Olathe’s Hispanic community than Erazo, the executive director of student and community engagement with Olathe Public Schools and a graduate of Leadership Olathe’s Class of 2021. Erazo has been the driving force behind the Hispanic Leadership Club’s Low Rider Bike Club, a student-led initiative that has created positive change in our community. In fact, Leadership Olathe’s Class of 2018 was so inspired by the club’s work, they chose it as the beneficiary of their volunteer project.

What did you want to be when you were younger? I’ve always wanted to be Spiderman, and I still haven’t given up. 🕸
