I have never risked frostbite while composing a Christmas card, but it was a concern this year. 😂 Perhaps I should have planned an indoor one but who would have guessed these temps of sunny South Carolina?!? I love the South Carolina Aquarium. Here's a report on my beloved sea turtles I want to share this weekend. If you go to the beach, please remember to only leave your footprints on the beach!

SEA TURTLE CENTER UPDATE:
Did you know we refer to sea turtle nostrils as nares? This actually isn't a term specific to sea turtles —our nostrils are nares, too! But where our noses differ from sea turtles' is our sense of smell. Sea turtles have an incredibly acute olfactory sense, especially in water. While this superpower allows them to easily locate prey, it puts them at greater risk from plastic pollution.

When plastics drift in the sea, they gather a community of bacteria, algae and small animals on their surface, developing a strong odor that's tempting to sea turtles. So not only are sea turtles attracted to plastic visually (i.e. jellyfish/plastic bag) but aromatically, as well.
This is one of many reasons why we should choose alternatives to plastics and share solutions to plastic pollution with our family and friends.

It’s 🐢 season! Don’t forget-
🚫Don’t leave floodlights under houses or lights on beach side longer than necessary. Artificial light draws them away from ocean/moonlight.
Fill holes dug on beach daily.(People & dogs injure themselves in these too.)
Remove umbrellas, chairs, tents, toys—anything you brought to beach —daily. As when camping, there should be no sign a human was there when you leave.
Let’s keep our island beautiful and wildlife thriving!🐢💙🏝🌊

Part 3- Didn’t get all floats but tried to capture as many as possible—it was hard shooting into the sun and not seeing what I was capturing🙃—but we truly enjoy the work and creativity so many put into this fun event each year. For the true Beach Lover

Sunrise…sunset…do you want it all from the comfort of an oceanfront house with a fabulous new creek dock? Stay in Bond Voyage-as close to the water as you can get-in this beachfront, creek back home that emanates Pawleys Island magic. If you choose, by opening the blackout drapes, you can see the sunrise from the King bedroom on the ocean end of the house, and the sunset from the Queen bed on the creek end (but hopefully you are enjoying that sunset from the porch or dock!) There’s always the Queen sleeper sofa in the living room if the King room is taken and more than one of you wishes to wake with the sunrise. The new and improved oceanfront deck is ideal for morning coffee, dolphin watching or enjoying the moonlit sea. Step indoors to the updated air conditioned sunroom for lunch, watching the waves through new picture windows that obstruct none of your view. Whether you are fishing or taking advantage of the floating dock and you’ve brought along your boat or have rented a kayak; there are plenty of options for viewing the sunset at Bond Voyage, whether on the water or viewing from the screened-in porch overlooking the creek. A new fully enclosed hot/cold shower underneath the home awaits those beach lovers who prefer to hear the waves and feel the ocean breeze as they get ready for the day or dinner. At the top of the seaside stairs, there is another opportunity to rinse the sand after a full day of beach fun. If your goal is to enjoy the sight and sounds of the water, whether inside or out, this is the one!
