Twice daily toothbrushing was found to be linked with lower rates of hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP), an infection that can lead to long-term hospitalization, costly medical bills, and an increased risk of death.

Brushing your teeth properly and regularly improves your oral hygiene. But how does this part of your dental care routine affect your risk of early death?

Wow, thank you to the generous congregation of St. Patrick's Episcopal Church!! These donated items will be distributed to our patients via our volunteer outreach nurses. The recipients, many of whom are experiencing homelessness, really appreciate the gifts. And handing these out also helps the nurses build trust and rapport so that conversations can lead to medical help and access to other resources.

It's Wellness Wednesday--what three things are you thankful for today?

Happy Wellness Wednesday! According to the NIH, having a regular gratitude practice can help support our mental health. But how do we get started? The good news is that it doesn't take too much time to begin. Grab a notebook and pen. Take a moment to think of 3 things you are grateful for, or 3 good things that happened today, and jot them down. That's it! Eventually, this quick and easy task will become a habit that will begin to shift your focus into a positive mindset. A positive mindset can help counteract negative thoughts whenever they enter your mind and improve your well-being. Grab that notebook and pen and take that first step to improve your mental health and wellness!
