Just wanted to thank those kind souls who have inquired about my well-being here during this dreadful Hurricane Irma scenario. I am warm and dry and safe and sound. It turned out to be not very bad at all, particularly here downtown - very little "tree debris" and the sun is shining. Tybee Island remains off-limits but the waters are receding rapidly. Savannah proper is essentially back up and running, city already cleaning up what relatively minor debris there is. Evacuees are returning. Everything will be basically back to normal within a matter of a day or two.
