The Delicate Arch. 🏞️ You may have seen it in a national parks guidebook, but what does it take to get a front row view of the Delicate Arch when you hit the trails at Arches National Park?
We won't lie to you, this hike is not the easiest one you'll find on your visit to Arches National Park, but trust us when we say it's incredibly rewarding.
Want to take that hike with us? Here's what to expect along the way:
🔸 Wolf Ranch
Just past the trailhead sits a humble, one-room cabin that's called Arches National Park home since 1888. It will take only a moment to peek inside and gain a respect and wonderment for how its inhabitants lived decades ago.
🔸 The Long Climb
Begin your steep and steady assent up to Delicate Arch. We cannot stress enough going at your own pace. Take plenty of water breaks to catch your breath and take in the 360 scenic views all around you and stay on the marked trail.
🔸 The Narrows
The final stretch of the hike is a path with exposed drop-offs. At its most narrow, the path is 4 feet across. There are AMAZING views here. If you start to feel nervous at all just hug the side of the path that's closer to the rock.
🔸 The Photo Finish
After a slight turn around the path you get your first look at the Delicate Arch. It will take your breath away. Enjoy your time here, you can stay as long as you'd like and take pictures. Marvel at how big this nature-made creation is, celebrate with other hikers, and just soak in every moment. It's all downhill from there.
🔸 Historic Petroglyphs
Before reaching your car on your descent, stop a moment to see the wall of Native American petroglyphs.
🔸 Final Thoughts
If you are physically able, we highly recommend this journey with the proper precautions. Consult the National Parks Service trail facts before hitting the trail head, refer to tips from your WorldMark Hiking Concierge, and bring plenty of water. As you plan your Moab adventures for your next vacation, the hike to Delicate Arch is by far one of the most memorable experiences you can have.
