County and City Public Safety crews are currently assessing damage and road conditions. Inital damage assessments are not reflecting major damage, but some localized flooding and road debris have been reported.

Roads may be hazardous. Travel with great caution and stay safe.

It's National Alligator Day! Show us your Georgia Coast alligator pics - ours is in the comments.

Happy National Alligator Day!!! Alligators are North America’s largest living reptile. They can grow up to 15 feet long and over 800lbs. Most max out at the 8-11 foot range. They live in permanent bodies of water including lakes, ponds, and rivers.

Alligators have between 74-80 teeth, and whenever one is lost another will quickly replace it. Some Alligators have been known to have over 3,000 total teeth in their lifetime. Alligators have been sighted this year on Cumberland Island at the Dungeness Duck Pond as well as the water near Plum Orchard. If during your travels you spot an alligator, be sure to keep a safe distance. See ya later, alligator!
